It’s true we didn’t live on our brick sized phones and we weren’t staring at the internet.

We did have cameras tho. Especially once those disposable joints got cheap. They kind of turned into an everyday carry if you were social in the late 90s early 00s.

Which lead to everyone needing a camera phone.

Remember the days

Of banging chicks outside in the car, getting head in the car in the club parking lot

It was more about how the chick look face wise more than the body..

Still remember how chicks stayed in they own circle on the dance floor or against the wall waiting on a nikka to approach them and giving u the wrong number of u was #uglygang and #brokenikkalife

Amazing how much fun you can have without phones and cameras. :blessed:

I remember I saw my first breast at a party in middle school. :wow:

I graduated at 17 in 1999. My uncle had a club while I was high school. So I was 15/16 in the club around 1996/97. Met Juvenile and saw Weezy at my Uncle club. Party was so much fun. Even the early 2000s.

At the end of the party. The DJ would finally slow it down. Every one was scramble to find their crush or chick they wanted. Slow dancing to R.Kelly and R&B at the end of the night was pretty much to the setup for who you was taking home.

I still remember these 2 classics. :wow: Kissing on her sweaty neck.

That LSG and Keith Sweat.

Damn I’m pretty much the same age with the exact same story…only replace your uncle with older brother and I was in clubs at 15-16 as well…

After the “slow songs/find your lady time” did the DJ play “Put it in your mouth” to close out the club? That happened every night in that era when I was out Lmao

Also, remember clubs you wore whatever you wanted lol…shorts, t shirts, boots…

Cell phones and social media have killed it. U cant even take a chick on a date and not have her take pics of some dusty Applebee's,clubs are the same way. It's all about a certain status u trying to portray. .
A jumping club is still jumping even with cell phones. People will pull them out to capture moments, but people are still having good times. The problem is the cost of that good time is astronomical now.

It’s one thing to say “f it” and get a table for a special occasion, like a birthday, but if you’re just trying to go out on a random weekend, the whole experience is terrible. First they hit you with crazy parking (especially in an institutionalized nightlife city like Atlanta); pay more to be closer, sometimes they have four levels of parking lots further and further from the door. Thenthey have you wait in line, which they purposely hold to try to get you to consider getting a table ($$$) or pay to use the skip line ($). Then you get in, the bar is slow since they’re focused on tables. The drinks are dumb expensive so people in Gen Pop ain’t drinking as much. The whole night is just about getting in your pocket. Then the worst part is all the baddies are in VIP. Dudes will get tables and either bring a stable (promoters typically have a bunch they get to come out to make the night more popping) or they’re going to scour Gen Pop for the few baddies and invite them to VIP. So that leaves you looking sorry as hell holding your $20 drink looking at all the bad broads in a section you can’t get to without a wristband.

A popping night in VIP is still a great time even with cell phones and social media. Not saying every night is popping in VIP, but when it is, cell phones and social media are not killing that vibe.

Look how in shape the women were in the pics :wow:

I only started hitting the clubs in 2010, when I went college. Social media was at the beginning stages, FB was the biggest social media platform at the time.

Why do people keep mentioning phones like we talking about concerts:wtf:

Club scene died when it turned to ‘lounges’ and the venues, and the culture, became obsessed with VIP sections. The end

The fashion was A1 back then :whoo::whew:

Now people just try to stunt with brands.

you'd be foolish to think a lot of what you are seeing isn't designer brands.... they just didn't put the logos all over everything like a lot of designers do these days. but that is something to be said about how street wear and asthetic (black culture) has influenced high end designers.
