Everybody blaming cellphones and VIP sections. But the real downfall started when clubs started having dress codes. We used to be able to wear damn near anything in the club. Even sweat pants

Nothing beat grinding up against a chick and she feel that hard on thru the sweat pants. If she was feeling you she’d look back like
:youngsabo:

And then start grinding harder :ohlawd:
:dahell: nikka wore sweatpants to the club :laff:

:childplease:I’d definitely say it’s the other way around. You used to have to dress up, collar shirt required, hard bottoms required. Thug nggas didnt wanna do that. So it kept that ‘just flaunt and stunt’ crowd away

Then it became ok not hard bottoms, shoes and fashion is changing. Then it became ok you can pay extra to where what you want. Then it became ok if you got a table you can where what you want. Then the whole culture collectively thru away dress clothes which was perfect for the dope boys and here we are.

Granted, my heavy club years were early 00s, not 90s

I remember the clubs started doing the whole dress code thing when button ups got hot. No more white and black tees, sweatsuits and jerseys. And some wouldn’t even let you in if the button up was too baggy. By that time I wasn’t in the club as much. My main years were 97-03. By the time I was in my mid 20s I rarely went unless it was for an occasion

The whole generation got fukked up because of cell phone cameras and social media apps. It started changing around 2006 when FB really started to take off and you had access to it on your smartphone.

Clubs in Europe in non tourist areas or Latin clubs still give you that vibe though. People are mostly dancing. No bottle service, etc.

I was born in the 90s so I obviously wasn’t partying back then. But I was starting in the Mid 2000s and it’s just something about not having cameras in your face that make the environment so much better. People weren’t afraid to dance because some dikkhead got a camera in their face trying to make them go viral. People weren’t just sitting on their phones. You actually have to dance to pull a bytch, not just floss only. By 2013 all this shyt came crashing down. It’s over.

It's the reason why some cities have transitioned from having areas with a bunch of clubs to now lounge and dive bar types. Hell even beer gardens. DC in the 2000s and DC in 2010s was night and day with nightlife alone.
Dream, DC Live, the House...... :banderas:
