I'm also noticing there's a few persons in here who seem to be suggesting that the cops should have waited to see if the boy would have pointed the gun at them, rather than shoot him just for pulling it from his waist....

Now I'm not gonna pretend to know what it's like to be in that kind of situation.....but common-ass sense tells me that if you hear there's someone with a gun, then you approach that person, you warn them to put their hands up, and the VERY next thing they do after that is reach into their waist and pull out a realistic-looking gun....then there's no way in hell I'm gonna wait until you actually raise that shyt up at me, before I shoot you. I'm in uniform and in a cop car, I tell you to put your hands up, and you're pulling out that shyt? Nah......you gotta go down.....

Again, I'm only speaking as if the cop's version of the story is accurate......as if he did warn the kid. I'm not saying I BELIEVE the shyt.....

I don't disagree. Though it's hard to tell from the video if protocol was followed. Especially considering they weren't relayed all the information from the 911 call. They pulled believing it's a "guy" with a gun, who has been waving it around and pointing it at people. The whole thing just sucks.

I can't tell where they come from, if there was a better spot to approach from, etc. That's why I said it's hard to tell. I also said they probably were too quick to shoot....but they thought it was an adult with a real gun, and I've never been in a situation like that, so idk.

I'd agree with you IF the cops followed protocol which they clearly did not. You have officers who are able to talk grown men down with REAL guns, I'm sure they could have taken on a 12 year old with one; real or not.
