The thing that stands out to me most about these playoffs and really this entire season is...how did damn near everyone miss so badly with this Lakers squad? Not even on some revisionist, hindsight shyt. I mean you had Bron and AD. That right there is a problem for any team, anywhere in any era. Then you put all these quality role players around them, perfect mix of young and old, overwhelming size all over and a defensive head coach and people really slept on this squad every step of the way. I don't get it. People been screaming "superteam" with every squad Bron's been on the last decade. Yet you had nothing but questions and doubts with this thorough ass squad all year. If we looking at play at both ends especially by superstars, versatility, role players, holes or lack thereof this squad is the best squad he's been and people basically gifted them the "no one believes in us" card. Was it purely Bron spite and/or wishful thinking or am I the only one who saw this shyt clear as day all year?
:dwillhuh: It was pretty much understood this was going to be the Lakers or Clippers this year.

NBA preseason predictions: Our experts' picks for 2019-20
Who will win the NBA title?
Heading into 2018-19, the Golden State Warriors received every first-place vote in this category. Now there's more competition, with the LA Clippers leading the way as the most likely NBA champion.

1. LA Clippers: 117 points (54.5% first-place votes)

2. Milwaukee Bucks: 85 points (36.4% first-place votes)

3. Philadelphia 76ers: 38 points (6.1% first-place votes)

4. Los Angeles Lakers: 29 points

5. Golden State Warriors: 15 points (3.0% first-place votes)

6. Houston Rockets: 11 points

7. Utah Jazz: 3 points

Yes they were considered a contender and favorite by Vegas. Betting odds and what people are saying are not the same thing. If you look at the way people reacted to other Bron squads, this pales in comparision, despite being pretty clearly the best from jump. Just go back and look at threads from before the season and even throughout the season. Look at what the talking heads were saying. Most of them picked the Clippers. shyt you had people jumping out the window saying this team would miss the playoffs or fail to win 50. Look at how people acted about the fukking Blazers.

It was only in November that ppl were claiming that the lakers cant beat a team with a winninng record and threads like the below had to be made:

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/lakers-beat-a-team-with-a-winning-record.747829/

LeBron James Fires Back At Critics Who Said Lakers Cannot Beat Teams With Winning Records

Schedule truthers are attempting to dismiss the Lakers hot start — Here's why they're wrong

Is Los Angeles Lakers' Poor Record vs Top Teams a Cause for Concern?

you a lakers fan so i expect your bias

Lakers so far have played 22 teams

14 of those games played were against teams that have losing records. some like the are the warrriors and hawks are worst in the league.

8 games played were against winners and 3 of those games against the winning teams yall lost straight up

the schedule soft bruh. Typical lakers logic just like the media trying to hype up a team when yall beating the hawks, grizz, warriors, wizards, suns and crap every night

but like I said the better competition coming up so we will see.

All yall need to hold off on this posting until they play the premier teams and actually win like the Clips, Celtics, sixers, rockets, bucks, etc

Max, The Bucks have also faced the Celtics and Rockets. Have the Lakers faced them yet? :unimpressed:

The Lakers schedule has been ridiculously light. Two different kinda energies Max.

Heat get much respect.

I'd remember their fight more than i will the lakers (if the lakes win the chip).

This is the most somber and non-celebratory i've ever seen Bron. He knows this series is a bad matchup and its not a real season.

Put a very astronimical asterisk next to the lakers and bron if they take this series.

.

On what grounds do you put an asterisk on the season?

Did the Lakers cause COVID?

Did LeBron force the Clips and Bucks to drop the ball en route to matchups with the Lakers?

NBA the only league that hasn’t had a health scare since restarting in a global pandemic, and yet somehow that’s not enough?

I swear some of you nikkas will find a reason to hate on this man.

I don’t even know why I’m responding. Defending LeBron on the Coli is about as productive as saying anything remotely critical about NaS on the Coli. Carry on.

Anthony Davis is leading all players in the NBA Finals in scoring so far at 33 PPG on 60/60/100 shooting.

Yeah during the season. But before the season? People were talking slick about the Lakers and how they had nobody but LeBron and AD. Most had them in 4th seed territory and not as champions

I don't know. Everyone was expecting Lakers Clippers in the WCF.
