Civ V better

Of course due to countless updates, mods, and expansion packs. Trust, when the game first came out, it got shytted on worse than Civ 6.

  • No army stacks
  • AI bugs
  • Game being a nightmare to run on low end PCs

This game was coming from Civ 4 which was simply :wow:. Bottom line, once the expansion packs and updates start coming in, trust me folks will be saying Civ 6>>>>Civ 5.

Official Press Release

So there will be eight new civs, nine new leaders, and eight new world wonders. Also new:

  • GREAT AGES: As your civilization ebbs and flows, and you reach milestone Historic Moments, you will experience Dark Ages or Golden Ages, each providing specific challenges or bonuses based on your actions in-game. Rise triumphantly from a Dark Age, and your next Golden Age will be even stronger – a Heroic Age.
  • LOYALTY: Cities now have individual Loyalty to your leadership – let it fall too low, and face the consequences of low yields, revolts, and the potential to lose your city to another civilization, or its own independence. But one civilization’s loss can be your gain as you inspire Loyalty among cities throughout the map and further expand your borders.
  • GOVERNORS: Recruit, appoint, and upgrade powerful characters with unique specialization bonuses and promotion trees to customize your cities, and reinforce Loyalty.
  • ENHANCED ALLIANCES: An enhanced alliances system allows players to form different types of alliances and build bonuses over time.
  • EMERGENCIES: When a civilization grows too powerful, other civilizations can join a pact against the threatening civilization and earn rewards, or penalties, when the Emergency ends.
  • TIMELINE: Review your civilization’s history at any time with the new Timeline feature, a visual journey through the Historic Moments that you encountered on your path to victory.
  • NEW LEADERS AND CIVS: Nine leaders and eight new civilizations are introduced. Each brings unique bonuses and gameplay, as well as a total of eight unique units, two unique buildings, four unique improvements, and two unique districts.
  • NEW GLOBAL CONTENT: Eight new world wonders, seven natural wonders, four new units, two new tile improvements, two new districts, fourteen new buildings, and three new resources have been added.
  • IMPROVED GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS: The Government system has been enhanced with new Policies and additional improvements have been made to existing systems.

Cautiously optimistic :ehh:, but a whole lot of shyt still needs improvement like a more competent AI (hopefully they've put in work there). Probably have to wait until the second expansion for this game to be on par with the previous releases like usual. :francis:

Let's be real. Civ is such a lazy ass game. How you make 1 unique passive, 1 unique unit, 1 unique building, and 1 unique leader skill for every single civ in the game?

That is literally 4 simply added codes to each faction. EVERYTHING ELSE works exactly the same for like 6 ages. Same stupid spear man.

And the racist ass eras shyt. Let's be clear. A fukking Apache will fukk up a cavalier marine 100% of the time. Apaches obliterated cavs. Nevertheless, the gmae would classify apache as stone age and cavs as renaissance.

Let's be real. Civ is such a lazy ass game. How you make 1 unique passive, 1 unique unit, 1 unique building, and 1 unique leader skill for every single civ in the game?

To be fair, there are other 4X strategy games that go beyond the lengths of CIV. Hell Civ 6 bit off of Endless Legend hard with the city within city aspect along with the mini missions throughout the game. The coding always been trash, hence why folks go for mods for the games. At the end of the day, I love the Civ games because "One More Turn".

There are some mods that claim to improve the AI, however I cannot say just how much of an improvement they actually are. AI+ and Artificially Intelligent are the most prominent ones that I am aware of. Just reinstalled and playing as Nubia, but I can't really find the motivation to continue playing VI in long play sessions again. shyt is just too shallow. I think I have finally out grown Civ :sadcam:. Thinking of switching over to Paradox's 4X franchises. All I want is a true spiritual successor to SMAC, Firaxis! :feedme:

I'm for keeping content fresh but my pockets don't agree with such a stance:gucci:. At least with Civ, I can easily just cop the expansion pack and be merry.

Yeah I've see the amount DLC they release and I have heard that alot of times fundamental fixes for their games are only available if you cop the DLC. Problem is Firaxis with the CIV franchise is not really any better in that regard at least in regarding the DLC spam. Civ V was guilty of the DLC spam. A good number of the post release CIV VI civs and scenarios are DLC like the Nubian civ. Good thing I have the Deluxe edition this time. Best bet would be to wait a couple of years and get the Complete Bundles for cheap during a Steam sale.
