Yo, I'm going to New Orleans in a few days, for real.

Pre-Halloween vacation. What should I expect down there around this time :ohhh:
Obligatory New Orleans post

That city is certified twilight zone status

New Orleans. The only city I've been to where I legitimately felt shook. :merchant:
What is ti about New Orleans that got y'all so creeped out? Is it a Christian thing?:what:
I loved the place when i went there. Went for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest and then another time again. Even went to a swingers club that time i went for Mardi Gras. The devilment shenanigans i got involved in while in there...:banderas:

I’ve visited family in Jacksonville a lot. I get a weird feeling every time I go there.

To begin with, people in DC--or at least this area, we stayed at the W hotel--seem..."reserved." I felt like I was surrounded by robots. Like people just walk or sit about keep completely to themselves, ignoring their surrounding.

I visited DC recently, and I kinda noticed this too. I was surprised how calm the people were. They didn’t seem to be really concerned about things that were going on around them. People didn’t seem to be “on edge”. I liked it actually.

vermont surprisingly is not that bad...years ago i used to mess around with a chick from there..it didnt give me the get out vibes...its just quiet and woodsy than a motherfukker lol...def has a small town feel

new hampshire is more lit than most ppl think..id rather go for clubbin and bar hopping there than boston

maine although nice beaches was creeping me out but what you said @Listen makes sense of what i saw because i saw numerous couples of homely white women and black dudes walking around lol
My sister went to the University of Vermont, cool little town.

I'm born and raised in NH, big fan, live on the seacoast. Ocean, Lakes, Mountains, close to I 95 corridor etc. No Income Tax, No Sales Tax, No Seatbelt law for adults, no Helmet law for motorcycles, No insurance law for cars, drive to NYC or Montreal in the same amount of time, Halifax is the same drive as DC etc.

Mostly the voodoo, it’s notoriety for violence and mystique, the amount of death that has happened there, Marie Laveau, all the ghost legends surrounding the town. St Louis Cemetary at night is creepy as fukk

yeah if you bring fun to anywhere im sure its better

but what yiu just described is the equivalent of putting seasoning on dry chicken. Destin unseasoned is trash
I hear you but i dont know what to tell you, breh :yeshrug: It's a small town, breh. What did you expect? Miami Beach level shenanigans? You gotta be aware of your surroundings/destinations to have the right expectations so you wont be disappointed.

Put it this way i wouldnt go down there alone looking to find fun. If it's a big city like Miami or New York or New Orleans then yeah because all you gotta do is show up and turn on Tinder or go to a club and meet loose women looking to have a good time. Destin advertises themselves as a family-vacation destination. Most of the rentals down there are 4 to 6 bedroom vacation homes. You cant rent a Honda minivan and expect Porsche style sports car driving excitement :manny:

I love it there because it has so much in common with haitian culture. The culture, the architechture all remind me of southern Haiti places like Les Cayes and stuff. With the right job offer i'd move there in a heartbeat.

nikka it has nothing to do with Christianity. People practicing roots and Gris Gris and playing with snakes is not normal.

As for death, it’s weird to see how they bury their dead above ground because they are below sea level. shyt Is Weird.

It’s not the practice of voodoo I guess as much as the people it is who practice it. The white people who do that shyt are weird as hell and take it to extremes. Seeing covens performing rites at the St Louis Cemetery at night is definitely creepy and weird as hell

I’m from Mobile Al like 100 miles away so I grew up with a different perspective than you but I feel where you coming from
