it has to be a midwest thing (minus chicago).
that's what we said growing up (in stl).
don't know what the youngsters say nowadays tho :flabbynsick:.

I was in Topeka this summer for my father in law's funeral. Place did have a different vibe to it than I thought it would. Had a rust belt vibe to that I wasn't expecting.

I was actually went there recently Honestly folks were nice there. It just felt like a Midwestern town but it felt like how the Midwest would feel to me though.
yeah, topeka wasn't bad, just weird. to elaborate, i worked there for like a year at their local va which was a few blocks away from that westboro baptist church cult place. the strange thing is that everybody that i encountered seem to distance themselves from it. also not a lot of love for gov. brownback who they were glad to see move on to dc. oh, and they hated that people associated them with tornados/dorothy/oz.
cool people but they were a tad methy, just an observation.
