i subscribe to the website im not one of u YT dudes i watch the whole cot dayum 2 and a half hours of the show and prolly only care about one movie every other week, tf is your point? .....your fanboy is leaking out your post breh u might wanna patch that up I nvr said visuals dont matter, i said they shouldnt outweigh a movie or have ppl giving great ratings on that alone. i went with regular IMAX even though a close theater got it in regular 70mm.

Still not sure why that IMAX didn't get it in 70 when they did for Interstellar

I would have had to make a 4 hr drive for 70mm IMAX

Beautiful visuals, great effects, solid battle scenes, but like so many have said, the reason we connect with stories is through characters.

There was no connection to the characters. It's like when the movie ended people had a collective

This character development thing is overrated. As if we need them to have pointless conversations about where they're from, or flashbacks scenes or some kind of CLICHE shyt that has little to do with the plot. We're so accustomed to caring about one or two people over the ENTIRE masses of people with their own individual stories.

I ask you this. Those when civilians risked their lives to go on the rescue mission, was it because they knew their backstories or because they CARED for human life? That was the point. Not to care for this or that character, but care in general. Nolan even purposely had them look alike so you aren't focusing on one person in general but the situation itself.

And with that said, there WERE character development. The actions and reasons behind them are clear of the kind of characters they were. Tommy's unwillingness to give up "Gibson" spoke on his character as well as Alex's. Gillian Murphy's character is an UNNAMED character yet you know his cowardice or PTSD he acquired. Both the Navy Captain and the old civilian rescuer character of DUTY regardless of the risk were very acknowledged. And so it. You don't NEED to know these peoples background or history. For WHAT? What does it serve for what this movie serves? The movie is called DUNKIRK and that's what the film is about in EVERY perspective of the situation. You saw what they went through, it was made so you can get their experience from their perspective outright and WHY they were regarded as heroes instead of in their eyes as failures or an embarrassment.
