I don't understand people who go out of their way to try to poke holes in the scienctific accuracy of movies like this and Gravity. It's a fukking movie, not a documentary. Just enjoy it.

Anyway, I loved Interstellar. Will definitely be seeing it again.

To be fair, this movie brings that on itself. The astronauts spend a good deal of time taking directly about the science of the mission. It was a major factor in the plot. Hell, it's basically the crux of the film's final act.

Very different than Gravity in that aspect.

@Napoleon

I wasn't a big fan of the movie....but you're doing way too much.

nikka is a fukking parrot. We saw this shyt last night and I'll agree with the consensus. I thought the first two acts were amazing. The visuals and the exploration. :whoo: :ohlawd:

shyt, even the first act on earth that sets everything up is brilliantly pieced together. Nolan was on one.

The third act was a little weaker basically because it was harder to digest.. 5th dimensional beings.. I get what they were going for but it didn't work as well for me. I would have liked to see the alien part play out but that's me. I don't think everyone else has to feel that way.

Still, it was a hell of a lot more interesting than Gravity. I'd give this a solid 8/10.

Actually, the third act is the one I loved the most - except for Coop and Murph's final meeting - because it felt way more focused than the rest of the movie, it took the best of the first and second act and put it all together.

The first act on Earth was great too...until Coop gets to NASA. From there until he leaves it feels way too rushed and kinda incomplete. They way Dr Brand convinces him to do everything (except the Plan A and Plan B part) had me like :stopitslime:

Second act was a mix of amazing visuals, very hit or miss dialogue and a bunch of characters that were almost impossible to invest emotionally.

7/10 for me.

Just got back from it.

Really didn't enjoy it.

About an hour in i just stopped investing in it and i became lost. I only vaguely understand what happened and tbh I don't really care.

Honestly one of the worst theater experiences I've ever had. Fell asleep in the middle for a solid 5 minutes.

stick to Transformers and Fast Furious type movies.

j/p I really enjoyed but I can see why the movie lost a lot of people. If you have no understanding of General Relativity and other theories your going to be lost. Also, you must have some sort of appreciation for science fiction.

Also, did anyone understand Dr. Mann's intent? Also, how exactly did Cooper relay the quantum data to his daughter towards the end. I didn't get it.

Dr. Mann arrived at his frozen planet and quickly realized that it was not an option. Then he got scared. He lied to everyone when he relayed the data because it was the only way he would survive. He knew they wouldn't search for him unless the planet was an option.

Exactly. dude was a straight up bytch too....

Family audiences lifted “Big Hero 6″ over “Interstellar” and the fanboys and girls who turned out in force for Christopher Nolan’s space adventure in one of the fiercest box office match ups of the year reports Variety.

“Big Hero 6″ topped the charts with $56.2 million from 3,761 locations, continuing Walt Disney Animation Studios’ recent hot streak. After the success of “Frozen” and “Wreck It Ralph,” the division is no longer the also-run to Pixar, its corporate cousin.

“Interstellar” scored a sizable $50 million from 3,561 locations, according to studio estimates. If “Interstellar’s” numbers hold, it will mark only the fourth time in history that two films have debuted to more than $50 million at the domestic box office, and each one of the previous occasions took place in the summer when ticket sales are at their highest.

I think the constant comparisons to Gravity are unfair to both films because they're not very much alike other than they're both set it space.

Gravity has an incredibly simple plot that just works for what it is. Interstellar tries to do way more plot wise and goes in completely different directions.

Memento is very high on my all-time list and I had no clue it was a Nolan movie until recently :lolbron:
