But the three major groups in Nigeria can become regional powers.
Yorubas alone have over 10 million on Ghana's population. And some would argue that Ghana can become a regional power if it can sort itself out.
This article was beatifully written and pretty much sums up my sentiments. Blacks worldwide are in denial over the fact that we truly have no power base.
I am truly astonished that there isnt an international pan-Africanist group that hardlines on this agenda. The situation is quite dire and the very survival of the black race depends on our ability to compete on the world stage.
As it stands Africa is once again being positioned to exploited by foreigners. Instead of Europeans it is now the Chinese, Arabs, Turks, and Indians. It is beyond disheartening. Africa is being propped up to be the next hotbed for future proxy wars waged by global players. Once again Africans will be divided and pitted against each other amongst religious, ethnic, and geographical lines.
As irrational as it sounds it is going to take a world wide effort from everyone who identifies as black to regain our dignity on the world stage. This means putting aside religious, nationalistic and and ethnic barriers. Being denegrated on the world stage because we are black is a common issue we ALL share and perhaps our greatest strength low key. It gives every reason to unite as one.
I often dream about the idea of one day there being a world wide movement amongst blacks. Imagine if every black nation or at least most decide to make their militaries, economies, and government transparent to each other. All this while maintaining our unique individual customs, languages, religions, etc. That would yield tremendous power.

The idea that a race or nationality has to some how "earn respect" is weird to begin with. Earn it from WHO? White people?
How about we all just treat each other as human beings and be smart enough to realize that conditions in a specific country could be cause by a myriad of reasons that are likely out of the control of any individual. (ie effects of colonialism and corruption)
Its human nature at this point. Humanity has not evolved to the point where one group CANNOT misuse and exploit a weaker and more vulnerable group of people. Pretending that we can guilt non-blacks into treating blacks with dignity is a complete waste of time. This is essentially what we've been doing all along. And it isnt working. And we should not be under the illusion that it ever will.
Instead we ought to form coalitions with other like minded blacks (pan-Africanists) from across the globe and seek to influence predominate black societies. We need a revolution. A cultural revloution of biblical proportions.
All you dumb fukks equating sex with respect represent precisely what is wrong with a lot of black males in this society. Consistently putting an over emphasis on sex and entertainment. All of this is a distraction that underlies the fact that we dont have a pot to piss in. Hypothetically if the world decided to exterminate a quarter of the earths black population NO black nation would be able to defend against it. This should terrify EVERY black person on this planet. You should lose sleep because of this.

One of my fears is that once the current superpowers pass a certain threshold of technological progress, it'll be all but impossible for upcomers to ascend. The hypothetical up-and-coming nation won't be able to establish itself without superpowers putting a mic in their cell phones, paying informants, hacking their computers, watching them with satellites and having nukes pointed at them. Actually, my fear is that this threshold has already passed.
