If Zay can’t become a dependent #1 the Ravens have to just hope the Chiefs aren’t there in January :francis:
Yep.

He really seems like a #2 Wr at the moment.

I still cant believe he got caught on that Sneed play in the AFC championship game. He's a slower Jaylen Waddle.

Likely could be a problem though. And if Andrews ever regains form/chemistry with Lamar it might make up for it.

Lamar missed a couple throws late but he played well enough for them to win. Mahomes missed some throws too but his line didn’t make the same amount of mistakes. The o line is really what lost this game. I expect the younger players to make mistakes but a veteran like Stanley constantly lining up illegally is inexcusable. Had the offense playing catchup all game. Plus Andrews basically got taken out the passing game becuz he had to stay in and block so much. Barring injuries this should be the AFC championship matchup
Cant lie.

As much as people give (potentially) the Bills flack for trading the Chiefs Worthy. The Ravens did draft a current backup level OT one pick ahead of the CHiefs current starting LT. Hope the dude gets better the rest of the year.

Having said that the way Lamar was running the ball he might fukk around and put up another 1200 yard season if he stays healthy.

Yea the o line is young and inexperienced but you have a veteran like Stanley constantly making dumb penalties and Linderbaum had that holding penalty that wiped out that 50 yard Lamar run. Yea Lamar missed a couple throws but he played well enough to win. All those o line mistakes is what kept them from using Henry more

Another nonsensical comment from a player on the losing team :russell:

Reporters should've asked him why he didn't drag his toes that close to the border. He messed up not getting his foot inbounds but people are too busy blaming Lamar to call him out.

It's game 1 so both teams were a little out of sync. Neither team was at their best.

Ravens still have no WR's aside from Flowers. When Tirico said Bateman was their 1st round pick 4 years ago I wondered how he's still on the team when he's clearly a bust. Every play was to Zay or Likely. They need to make a move at some point for a legit #2.

Chiefs offense is only going to get better. It's always going to be ugly vs Bmore's defense so you just need to hold on for the win. Hollywood didn't play and Perine barely had any practice time. Kingsley was solid in his first start. You already saw the impact with Worthy opening up the middle of the field. They just didn't get the time to try out the deep ball but once that element gets added it's going to be unstoppable.

Hollywood, Worthy, Rice, and Kelce is going to be a nightmare to cover. Then Perine is a receiving threat if you do manage to get good coverage. Watson and Juju are added depth. Carson Steele will eventually have an impact on short yardage but it would be nice if they actually used him like a FB and let him block for Pacheco. Gotta work Wiley into the red zone packages with his height.

Ravens don’t stretch the
Ol we’ll get em next time ass nikka

Exactly. Chiefs don’t even have Hollywood Brown out there yet. Whole team has the opportunity to gel more and be a lot better.

Ravens’ ceiling is capped unless they can get another WR option and complete some long passes.

Likely isn’t wrong tho. Ravens o line play better we prolly looking at a different outcome. They made too many mistakes. But alot of them are young and haven’t played together before. They should get better

Ravens are fine at receiver. They not the best group but they’re good enough to win. Lamar didn’t have a whole lot of time to get the ball to them down the field

And let me add that Hollywood ain’t shyt. He ain’t a difference maker and he’s soft. There’s a reason he’s on his third team.

And if Mahomes completes the throws to Pacheco and Perine you would've lost by double digits.

There's always a "we could've played better" story on both side. You didn't and you lost. Bottom line is Likely had a play that would've essentially won the game (assuming they convert for 2) but was lazy in his effort to get his feet down. That's what he should focus on not KC. Keep the sour grapes statements to yourself and take accountability for not getting it done. That's what champions do but he wouldn't know anything about that.

Your WR's are not good enough. Yeah, you'll run the division again but it's the playoffs where they will fail you. Flowers was then only one making plays in the championship game. The other WR's had a combined 53 yards. That's not going to get it done. Ravens are the only team trying to run their way to a championship.

Houston got Nico, Tank, and Diggs but y'all are good with Flowers, Bateman, and Agholor :mjlol:

If Flowers gets hurt and has to miss games you're finished.

Chiefs don't need Hollywood to be a #1. He just needs to stretch the field and contribute. They won with Rice, MVS, Watson, and Mecole. He'll fit in just fine.

Makes it even worse because Bateman had ZERO chance

Nah I understand what he's getting at. There was an obvious hole in the Chiefs zone so he thought Bateman was going to run to that open area instead Bateman cut left and ran right into where defenders were waiting. Just a miscommunication.

It's like with the Mahomes and Kelce connection. They both usually have the same read on defenses so Mahomes can basically throw it to open spaces knowing Kelce will read it. Just a miscommunication that you would hope Lamar and Bateman would have at this point.

How was Likely lazy on that play? It’s mad difficult to make a catch like that in the back in the end zone and he was out by literally a toe

And yea they are fine with the receivers they had. They lost the AFC championship becuz they didn’t run enough. If the line didn’t constantly set them back with penalties and gave Lamar enough time nobody is talking about the receivers

Amazing kickoff to the NFL season. Both teams came to play. Skinny Lamar definitely seems to have recaptured some of that old burst he displayed early in his career. If he displayed the same level of aggression in last year's ACF championship game, the Ravens go to the SB. Mahomes is gonna Mahomes. I fukks with Pacheco but the Chiefs could use a 2nd back that is more explosive athletically to provide a nice change of pace from Pacheco's plodding style. Perine and Helaire have similar styles with added pass-receiving skills. I knew Likely was nice getting open but his blocking really jumped out to me in this game. Andrews may need to play the background going forward. Unsure why King Henry didn't get more touches. Feels like Monken dropped the ball again.
