the common thread is poverty first and foremost. I think its extremely obvious that thats the main issue
1. Where are the male influences in these kids life, ok so the father isn't in the home but where's the Grandfather? where's the Uncle? where's the Cousin? where's that positive male influence for support. If those influence(granddad,uncle,cousin) are all from the streets as well it's gonna keep the circle going.

Stop.. Why do you guys act like they were eating out of trash cans before they started killing/robbing/selling drugs? Wasnt there a guy from Chi who killed his moms for her money? I'll say it again, plenty of these kids were not starving wondering where the next meal is coming from.Yeah they didnt have the best of everything, the problem came when they wanted itand wanted fast money.
There are plenty of poor blacks who dont resort to a life of crime, why are you guys making excuses for the ones who do? you hear the same stuff everytime, they couldnt find jobs, white people didint give them the chance, white people didnt allow us to do anything, they are superior to us.. are black ppl really that inferior to them? Do you guys like saying that ? I dont..We either start taking what we want or sit back and pull up stats and cry about it..
They so poor but have a computer and a internet connection. The internet by itself should be the biggest boom to the black community. yet to many of us use it to socialize. No poster on here is willing to admit the white man is why they arent where they want to be.. odd

You have a point to a certain degree.If they seen more men making say $70K a yr and above it would influence them somewhat. The breakdown comes when you tell them you won't be making that right away. Naw its going to take you 4yrs of college + being broke / paying student loans out the ass / working your way up to get that $70K. If alot of them think they wont see 25 to begin with, why would they wait it out? They think they are soldiers and playing some game, some may even think its an honor to die young. How do you reason with a kid like that?
