Its a common thing among all of them. You can almost count on the father not being around, a women cannot raise a man( How many times has a women seen your POV on a subject? ) My mother is overly emotional, while my father always sat back and analyzed things before doing something. These kids are running off pure emotions, that's why they wont take any disrespect from people. They don't have a father around to say "defend yourself with your fist", so they go get a gun. Hell me and my sons mother aren't together, but the few times that he does act up, she calls me and i set him straight, What does a kid do when no male figure is there to set him straight?

Where are the male influences in these kids life, ok so the father isn't in the home but where's the Grandfather? where's the Uncle? where's the Cousin? where's that positive male influence for support. If those influence(granddad,uncle,cousin) are all from the streets as well it's gonna keep the circle going.

I'll say this then i'm out. Throwing money at issues has never worked. You cant just give these kids jobs , create programs for them and then think its going to be all . We need a culture shift, a change of thinking.We need them to be independent thinkers. I'll be the first to admit I don't have the answers( Threads like this at least get some type of discussion going, no matter who is right or wrong ), I honestly don't know why some fathers ditch their own seeds ( I could never in a million years come up with an excuse ). Our teens are no different than the white ones, Asian ones etc. The difference is more than likely they can afford to fukk up, we don't have that luxury.We have to promote a look forward thinking, not this statistic shows blah blah blah, well dude was shot yesterday because in 1850 . You ask any older black person, they will tell you they had it 10 times harder than us, yet everyday on here I see a bunch of crying, divide & conquer ( new blacks vs old blacks ???),Some even stated the blacks of today have it harder than their grand grand parents( yeah ok ). 30 blacks are shot over the weekend 4 page thread on a good day, A white boy from Canada says the N word, 50 pages +. That just goes to show that we would rather ignore our issues and concentrate on them, waiting for them to turn around and say "shyt, we did cause this to your people....................my bad" or think they are going to offer over some of their wealth to make you feel better.

Growing up in Englewood, kids is likely to be born poor in a very dangerous block with no dad. A kid would obviously join a gang so they can get paid and have nikkaz watch their backs when they are in danger. Dont u think?

Why do you guys love making excuses so much? its like right on cue, bring up some history crap. Fact of the matter is you dont need a decent job to raise your kid(s). Many of our youth fathers arent around, alot of it is because they dont want to take care of them. I never feel the need to go grab some book and make a point. I''ll speak from experience like i always do, I was one of the rare ones growing up who had his father in his life. all my friends stayed with their grand mother or brought up by a single mom. and guess what? all of their fathers werent in Prison, they just didnt care to be around them..


Im a father and if it took me working 3 fast food jobs to take care of my son, so be it. Let me guess the fathers dont want to be around because of the white man huh?

Its not black on black crime its poor, uneducated people killing each other. This is why we as a people keep getting trapped when we say black on black crime because then you lump all blacks into one category and not solve the real problems. When dealing with Chicago you have to deal with the history of blacks and the city or certain sections. A lot of blacks in chicago came from the rural south and went upnorth for industrial jobs and when they closed down these uneducated people had no jobs but they still had old ways of rural thinking like a lot of drinking, smoking, and not stressing education. These traits grew as time went on and no extra jobs were created and this is why these areas are worse even though chicago is the safest it has been in decades.

The blacks who had jobs and stressed education left Chicago in high numbers to go to the suburbs or just are scattered around the city. What needs to change is households need to stress education and most Importantly the mothers need to stop making it hard for fathers to do their job. People tend to forget a lot of single households is not because the father left but because the mother is too argumentative and hold the kids back from seeing the father. They also keep any man away to be involved in the kids life if she doesn't like to hear what he's saying. A lot of women are selfish and don't like to hear a man teach a little boy things of manhood because she doesn't like it, not because of the child. I seen it firsthand. Things like talking stern to the child, not letting the child have his way, be disciplined, and other things associated with manhood(really its just good character) are not allowed to be taught to the child because I think women want to do that and be the boss. This is the little secret no one wants to talk about in the black community and now its hitting most of the u.s.a. in order to be a community we need both people to play their part not have everything one sided like it is now.
