they're expensive as fukk to maintain, way more than a dome and the fact of the matter is, it's a lot of crying just to open that roof a handful of times a year for anything. Fans will look for any reason to have the roof closed, even if it's 90 degrees. How many 75 degree days with no clouds in the sky are there really? If they did what the Vikings did and have it domed but with tons of natural light, you wouldn't know the difference. Part of why fans hate the thought of a dome is because it makes the inside look cavernous.
