teams just want downtown stadiums or by skylines.
the Cubs are unique in that their stadium is residential but it ain't the hood. Every other baseball team made the switch to downtown except the White Sox and Yankees who are still in the hood.

Phillies are in a big ass sports complex with 3 other arenas/stadium and xfinity live
Yanks can get away with it more than the Sox can. If not downtown teams at least want to be able to develop the land around the stadium with condos, retail, and restaurants-bars.

the white sox are NOT in the hood. they play in bridgeport, which is where both mayor daley's grew up. it's been a historically racist neighborhood, but definitely NOT hood. also, the white sox are currently closer to downtown chicago than the cubs are to be honest.
guaranteed rate field would have a skyline view, except they made the mistake of having the stadium face east instead of north.

where the sox currently play, there's plenty of available land to develop condos and retail if they wanted to. the sox own so many adjacent parking lots, it's absurd. they could easily convert some of those to retail/condos/restaurants.

used to be, but those days have been long gone for well over 2 decades. chinatown is right next to the plot of land that the white sox want to build their new stadium actually. it's just south of downtown. less than 2 miles.
Read somewhere recently that there was a proposal when developing the stadium that would’ve had the area surrounding it built up on some Wrigleyville shyt.
Jerry shot it down because he wanted parking revenue.
Bears and the NFL have more than enough money. People gotta start pushing back on these billionaires who want to fleece taxpayers and keep all the money. It ends now.
NFL should put up a loan program for owners to finance through them to build stadiums.
