By 1800, the Cherokee already included various mixtures of Scottish, English, German, and Black people.

Included by percentage of blood relation, not outright. Interracial relationships bring about two things, the non-Cherokee spouse is part of the tribe and the mixed-race children are automatically part of the tribe. I don't know of any 100% Scottish, English or Germans in the Cherokee tribe who isn't at least a spouse. There's a possibility of an adopted child.

The point of the above, as your explanation also admits, is that tribal membership was not simply a matter of blood, even that long ago. Theoretically, a white woman could marry a Cherokee, the half-Indian child of the two could marry another white person, etc, ad infinitum, and the result would be white Cherokees.

Let's also not forget that having ancestors on the tribal roll is an unfair standard to place upon the descendants of slaves, who were not recorded as full citizens of the tribe to begin with. Even if they did have Cherokee ancestry through rape, or otherwise, they weren't being counted. In short, this move is exactly the same as if the US government not only denied, but removed Black citizenship after slavery.

You are correct but if alcoholism and suicide are brought to light (for whatever reason) why not bring to light the high percentage of blacks being crackheads, being 90% of the prison population, their woman over 90% of the strip club/prostitution population, the monstrous amount of black on black crime etc..

All they are saying is take a blood test, prove you have Cherokee blood to be able to qualify for the Cherokee benefits. & It doesn't only apply to blacks , it just seems like a whole lot of blacks don't have the blood ( nd are shyt out of luck) and are now calling it racist.
