I'd always get frustrated when a non athletic looking guy would come to the court and no one could stop him. There was this one guy that used to come to the court with all his kids and a dog wearing some damn moccasins and cut off jean shorts and he was about 5'7 245 lbs with a gray beard. He would give me/us buckets and lock me down on defense and get in his van after 3 games and peel out. That's who Barkley reminds me of. Wasn't shyt I could do and he knew it. I couldn't even tire him out by running around. Nope he was right there, I blocked his shot and he laughed and proceeded to hit me with all kinds of fade aways and up and unders. The help defense just made it worse cause now he schooling both of us. With all his children just cheering him on.

I’ve been saying this for YEARS. You’ll never see another Charles Barkley in the NBA. Vastly underrated player because of no rings. Underrated athleticism, not too many players were more athletic than him.

I’m pretty sure Barkley wasn’t THAT athletic but probably had a 7 foot wingspan so he played more like 6’8

Zion is just as good a slasher, if not better, than Barkley was as a rebounder. Z was never a great rebounder at any level so I never expected him to average 10+.

There has never been someone Zions size that can move like that, half court or full court.

Yea but I’m not saying he’s more athletic than the average NBA freak athlete (like Zion for example). But what makes him an anomaly and separates him from others is his wingspan which is crazy long for a 6’4 player

Combine that with his athleticism and he can play much bigger than his height.

But Barkley was never “jumping out the gym”. I don’t think I’ve ever seen his head at the rim.

And he wasn’t faster than John Wall, Rose, Westbrook etc….
