I remember seeing Chuck in person and thinking he wasn’t that tall at all. Barely taller than my pops who is 6’3”. Only hooper that can match his athleticism since he retired is Zion. Duke Zion is the closest thing I’ve seen to Chuck.

His rebounding is in its own way more impressive than Dennis Rodman. Besides the fact that Rodman has a couple of inches on Barkley, Rodman only really had to focus on rebounds and defense (and was a good passer). Barkley had to carry the offensive load while getting all those rebounds.

Barkley led the league in 86-87 averaging 14.6 RPG while scoring 23 a game.

Chuck is an anomaly indeed and criminally underrated, but I find it kind of strange to see him more as an anomaly than Lebron James. How many players that tall and strong have we seen be so quick and agile and be able to do everything on a court at an elite level for 20 years. He's the biggest anomaly I've seen since I started following the league 30 years ago. There's nothing "normal" about his career.
