(AJ BROWN MAKES EAGLES HISTORY IN DEBUT)
*EAGLES SURVIVE HARD KNOCK LIONS, LEAD NFC EAST AFTER WEEK 1
*JALEN HURTS HAS OVER 300 TOTAL YARDS and a Rush TD (Now has 14 Career Rushing TD's already)
*AJ BROWN EXPLODES AND HAS THE BIGGEST DEBUT IN EAGLES HISTORY WITH 155 YARDS (TIES CAREER HIGH)
*4 EAGLES PLAYERS HAD A RUSH TD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 60 YEARS (1961)
Well they got the W but of course there are things to clean up. First and foremost The Hard Knock Lions definitely grew from last year. They were staring at another Blow Out Loss and instead of folding like last year's 44-6.....they fought back and punched the Birds in the mouth. I thought Offensively we picked up where we left off last year. The Running Attack is still the most lethal in the league. Jalen can run, Miles can Run, Boston can Run and Kenny can run. That means in the red zone there are so many weapons. AJ Brown has already changed this offense in one game. He completely stretches the field.
It was unfortunate Devonta didn't get any touches but AJ was really hot. I want Jalen to distribute the ball but at the same time if someone is hot, they hot. We got AJ, Dallas, Miles, Devonta, Boston, Kenny...it's like Weapons galore. Everyone isn't going to eat every game. Players need to check their egos and not take it too personal because winning is the goal. AJ was killin them out there. I don't expect Devonta to go without a catch again. But AJ is the #1 WR on this team. Devonta is very talented but he's still young and has things to learn. AJ was snatching ish out the sky, fighting for balls. This is the WR we've been waiting for. I want Devonta to learn under AJ. I had to listen all off season to constant analysis of "Jalen, Jalen, Jalen". Jalen literally saved this team yesterday being such a multifaceted playmaker.
The issue that concerned me before the season was Gannon, Gannon, Gannon and I was right. He sometimes gets a little to passive. Eagles Defense is Legendary for being aggressive. But Gannon loves this bend don't break style. Well he had Goff looking like Montana in that 2nd half. The Defense played a great 1st half. Goff couldn't do anything. Then we got up big and they seem to go into a prevent style in the 3rd Quarter. That was way to early and the Lions came back. They seem to take the foot off the gas. Yes they had the Pick 6 but giving up 35 points to Goff falls on Gannon and the Defense. So I give the Offense a B+ and I give the D a C- for the game. The Run Game is beastin and AJ Brown reminded me of T.O. in 2004 with how dominate he was. The Offense did enough to win that game. So we have to get tighter on D again. Overall it's the first game but I liked some things and some things clearly need work. Next Week, Kirk Cousins. He's horrific in Primetime, I want the Defense to bounce back in this game.
