Leverage works both ways but in this case Sixers have none..Philly has the worse contract that they are desperate to get off, Pelicans have the better player who is sought by many contenders. There are much cheaper stretch 5s available for Pelicans.
Sure Philly has leverage not as much as N.O. but they know that at Jrue's age and pricetag his legitimate suitors will have limitations... Like I asked...which contending teams are realistically equipped to pay for Jrue??

The NBA isn’t a league where you negotiate much. That’s the result of max salaries. In football I can use someone else’s deal as a barometer to configure something else. In the NBA the max is your only offer really. It’s about max deals, vet minimums and whatever your rookie deal is.
