what accountability do ceo's really have to us? most of it is to corporate and shareholders to be the "leader of direction" or the "fall guy"

hold the corporation accountable. the fall guy is a distraction and that's part of their job, taking heat or taking all the props.
They can be replaced. Negotiated with. They’re human.

You’re suggesting a black box the board can use as cover for any and all decisions.

Imagine trying to hold AI accountable for why it made a decision that led to planes crashing without any way to actual track its logic because the algorithm’s not opaque and complexity of decision making can’t be neatly ascertained.

“Sorry, we must have had some bad training data.”

What’s stopping companies from using ai for it & software development?

Couldn’t all the people who work in IT be expendable?

Eventually,

Thats why people need to see we are in a window in time that if you can master this technology, or at the least develop the means to build it. You will do very well for yourself moving forward.

clearly said hold the corporation accountable.

if there is no CEO and you are using AI the AI will NOT be taking the heat. there should be a board and the board should still have final say. NOBODY SAID THE AI should have FINAL SAY. it's not that hard to let it do the logic and let humans make final decision. a CEO is not a dictator anyway

I think people fail to understand what a CEO of large companies actually do. Their main job is to make sure investors don't lose confidence in the company and grow the stock price of said company. Anyone that has grown through their company with several different CEOs can feel the cultural and strategic changes they make which can be seen and felt. Sure there's board of directors but a CEO is needed to be the figure head, agent of change and ultimately the fall guy if shyt hits the fan. Ai can replace alot of jobs but someone still needs to lead the way even if you decide to call the CEO something else.

You’ve undermined your entire argument completely.

Nothing is stopping them at all

That's what they've been using for awhile

Nothing codes better than chatgpt from what regular humans have access to

The only thing that will keep us working is if we make the AI companies stop development and that'll never happen

This is just AI on regular silicon

Wait til you see what that bytch can do in a quantum computer

Some of you have far too much faith in A.I.

1. The money saved would not to the employees. A chunk would go towards the licencing fee and the amount actually saved would go towards the company.

2. We are not at a point where A.I can replace someone's network and goodwill.

Moral of the story is that a CEO is easier to replace than a worker.

People still gotta cook the food.

They can ask AI about prices and menu options based on sales.

How many people have you personally met can run Amazon/Walmart/McDonald's?

And if they could run those 3, im assuming their current business is just as big?
