If the DNC is going to go with a "centrist" Democrat they're going to lose. Voters want socialist democrats, not centrist corporate fukks like Hillary

:laff:

How true is the idea that tuition was used to counter student activism? Make them work to take away free time all that. I remember a professor saying something along the same lines, but I could have been mistaken.

It wouldn't surprise me, tbh. :ohhh: But I haven't seen much about it.

I think of Booker, Duckworth, and Booker as Centrists.
The US' shift toward the right is the only reason they're being seen as "Progressive."
The Democratic Socialists of America need to continue to put pressure on the Dems this election cycle, and really push a lot of their ideas and potential legislation into the mainstream consciousness.

There's a major gap between a moderate Democrat and a republican when it comes to policy.

But that's irrelevant in the whole.

Progressives still have to find a way to win over moderate Democrat voters and black voters.
Its not hard. The Dems honestly don't seem like they want to win though.
The playbook has existed for well over a decade, but they haven't even picked it up and turned a page.
Bernie Sanders was the closest they got, and they did everything they could to undermine him and then repeatedly drop the ball on the Clinton campaign.

The Coli Liberal vision is literally "free healthcare, free food, free school, who the fukk needs borders just let everyone in to share all the free stuff and if you don't think these are great ideas well then fukk you CAC"

:stopitslime:

We're fukked as a country currently because you have far right rethugs and far left pussies running the government with no one willing compromise and meet in the middle to get shyt done...

More moderates is exactly what this country needs...
Who in the current US government is far-Left?
Do you need an explanation of the political spectrum?

Education is already free up to college and the extreme majority of the country cannot read. Further, there are a lot of colleges that cannot even provide a positive ROI.

Free college is a much more difficult proposal than the right to live and be healthy.
This is a stretch, the majority of the country can read.
There are plenty of colleges that provide a positive ROI, the biggest issues are: extreme cost, unprepared student body, proliferation of lower-class/middle-class students not majoring in, or working toward, career fields that are sustainable. Added to the US government and large-scale corporations working in conjunction to depress wages, and you've got a much bigger issue.
Closing for-profit universities that take up a large amount of federal funding, closing law schools and business schools that are more akin to scams than legitimate education institutions, implementing subject-by-subject testing instead of weak standardized tests at the end of the year, and funding pre-school programmes like Head Start as well as summer-enrichment and year-round programmes would greatly decrease the under-education of a segment of the population.

State and federal governments are too stupid to implement complete, commonsense reform, but the solutions are rather simple.

This.
I'd actually go as far as to say the majority of Americans want policies that would be considered "socialist" as long as they're not labeled as such.
I was listening to an interview of Chamath Palihapitiya, and what he essentially described as "human capital development" was more or less the same as what are considered "socialist" education, healthcare, transportation, and immigration policies.

They want to actually be able to see the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans, and not "slight" differences either, they don't want the same corporate ties, empty promises, or close relationships.

Running to the people :salute:

I am nurse and I am thinking of moving to Maryland. IDK about Maryland, but most of the nursing homes in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania are overworked and underpaid. You would not believe the quality of care being provided.
