I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm not saying switch it up. I'm just pointing out the facts. Just because Jake Roberts typically spent his promos giving off predatory vibes and talking up the DDT doesn't mean I think what he said is trash. It's still some of the best mic work in wrestling history.
My original point is that Roman Reigns doesn't have to be a great promo guy that can go in for 10-15 minutes just for kicks. He just has to know who his character is, what it is about, and stick to it. Roman's best ever promo/the promo that garnered him the most heat and reaction was five words long.
"This is my yard now."
This whole, "You gotta rise up when Cena comes with that heat" BS is overblown to me. Yeah, Roman got ATE on that microphone but chances are, he's still going to get pushed. He's probably going to beat Cena at No Mercy, and he'll keep being the dude who has next.
Reigns should've said:
"John, you're a better talker than me, always have been. But at No Mercy we're gonna see if you can fight.
Folks, I'll admit it, wrestling is usually fake. But this here? This is real. At No Mercy, John, we're gonna have a real fight, and Im gonna beat your ass"

i love how cena talks about people cutting the same promo. Dude still wears jorts and been sucking off the fans for a pop for a year Roman killed him with the bury stuff. Cenas interuptions and lame jokes are mad corny. Dudes jumping up n down like hes a frat boy at an asher roth concert.

this loosely reminds me of a Eddie Guerrero vs Ric Flair promo and Flair was talking about "i gave my life to wrestling, blah blah blah" and Eddie was like "My entire family gave their lives to wrestling 
"...He killed Flair with that line. Flair was trying to be on some "son" shyt, and eddie was like nah my family been here too playboy. That's all Roman had to bring up was the fact that his entire lineage is based in wrestling, he seen multiple family members die from wrestling related shyt, etc...like if Cena wanna shoot and be "real" then get real. But of course before Roman could start coming back they send out Tex Ferguson and Chad 2 Badd.
