This is probably not the first time Puff has been accused of some wrongdoing, and if this was just some bogus lies by somebody tryna get paid off, I doubt Puff woulda been coughing up that money in record time like that. He's tryin' to make that shyt go away ASAP because the longer it went on, the worse it would have gotten for him. I'll actually be surprised if this doesn't lead to more people speaking out, but he's avoided trouble for a long time now despite numerous people having issues with him. This was a case that he didn't see going away so easily and had some concrete incriminating shyt, so he jumped and made sure he took care of it.

If my rep is already stained, then spending more money to fight it off would be my move, not to settle. If people see I'm using all my resources to fight these supposedly false allegations, at least you have some people thinking "Damn, he spent all this money to prove his innocence, maybe he really didn't do it". Obviously not everyone, but he would have at least SOME on his side. Imo, settling and so quickly, not even putting up a fight, when you have millions and millions of dollars at your disposal, the best lawyers in America, etc...and not even attempting to fight it? I just don't see how this in anyway makes him not look more guilty.

Yeah, people don't understand. Courts are only there for mediation when people can't reach an agreement. Legal aid will often advise you to settle out of court because its best for all parties involved.

"Bu, bu, but I want to prove that I didn't do it" as if fighting a lawsuit is going to prove that. Settling out of court also gives you more room to negotiate, which might include the plaintiff not being able to bring future claims against you.

She still got esentially what the lawsuit was going to grant her. Puff got to stop a lawsuit that would've been highly publicized and possibly more expensive than what he gave her.

I'm not saying he did or didn't do what she claimed he did, but I don't think people understand the magnitude of the situation. This wasn't just some disgruntled employee bringing a lawsuit against Puff. He was in a public relationship with Cassie that lasted years. During that relationship they shot a commercial that went viral. Commercial got a lot of backlash for being borderline pornographic in nature. Most people know Cassie because of that relationship.

So this really doesn't open the floodgates for other women to come forward. Why? They don't have the added leverage of being in a relationship with Puff outside of business that the public knows about.

Even if it's more, I'd spend the more on trying to at least attempt to prove my innocence than give someone 10s of millions away on just a completely made up accusation.
