I'm thinking the young British dude is a sex worker hired by the old, gay rich guys to distract Portia while they run whatever game they are running on Tanya. Accents between them don't match up. Possibly Tanya's husband devised a plan to try and get her to do something that would void the prenup and that's why he was so mad Portia was there.......now they had to hire a sex worker to distract her.
thats a really good theory, its clear to me that group is plotting some scheme on Tanya and that British dude just showed up outta nowhere in the pool when she sat down at night, the timing was weird and to just intro his character 5 episodes in or whatever
I also thought it was totally out of character for Aubrey Plaza's character to not address that situation head on - but then again, finding out your significant other is cheating probably could make people react funny
this season has been weird to me, I dont particularly love it, and the characters dont make rational decisions that are based in reality to me. Like I understand why his dad didnt want to stop his son from fukking with the prositute, but at some point you cant just let your fukking son walk into that trap. Also the whole scene with the other escort and the piano player just felt messy and sloppy and not well acted, I dunno
this feels like a show we are told
should be prestige TV -- and the cinematography and score (Cristobal Tapia de Veer is a legend to me for his work on Utopia) help make it appear that way, but the show ultimately feels super hollow to me
