Hey what's this? Looks coolAlso, something like a bit.1 would be worthwhile in the future
It's not quite and EQ on the fly, but it does have presets if you get the controller
And you all the other goodies
Going through this thread the homie @edzyy knows what hes talking about down to the wire.
Im here to say the first time I got a system made all the things he's saying not to do i did it.
I bought a pre-fab sub box
I bought rear speakers
I didnt set the gains properly on my Alpine type X sub and blew it(It took my alpine amp with it too)
I bought a cheap ass infinity 4-channel amp for my speakers
I payed a guy to install my equipment and he didnt do it the way I expected him to.
I went cheap on sound deadening material and the shyt started to melt off my doors and the company was so full of shyt they wouldnt answer my emails and phone calls so I just had to take a $160 loss on faulty sound deadening.
THe guy who installed my front component speakers put the crossover in the doors next to the water drain holes. Tell me why one day my right side went dead after it rained real bad one day. I took off the door panels and checked the crossover to find it filled up with rain water.
If anybody is paying attention in this thread. With car audio its like anything else you get what you pay for. You buy cheap equipment like Boss audio, Altek, Bazooka, Crunch, Dual, Fusion, Lanzar, you will get burned.
Breh I am not buying the "don't buy rear speakers" bit. I have rears in my car, and my entire system sounds great. Also none of my equipment is cheap. All of my shyt is Pioneer, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and Kicker. I need to upgrade my amps, most definitely, but everything else aside from my blown rear speakers, sounds great. Pre-fab box is my only option right now because I don't have time to build a box myself.
With going to mom & pop shops, I definitely agree with that. I'm going to stop going to bestbuy altogether. The reason I go to bestbuy is becuase that's where I got my shyt done originally, and it doesn't cost me much to replace shyt since I have the receipts from my previous installs.
I do need some sound deadner pretty badBruh I swear up and down about the rear speakers I was talking the same way you are now. I had some Alpine Type R component speakers in the front and the 2-way type R speakers in the rears One day I decided to fade my speakers to only in the front and realized my shyt sounded better and louder coming from the front only. I sold the rears that same week.
If your interested in what Im running now heres my set-up:
Alpine MRP-1000 at 2 ohms 1000 watts
Big 3 Done In 0 gauge Knukonceptz Wire

Cheap on the deadner? My system wasn't cheap breh!Check out sound deadner showdown
Talk to Don the owner he'll give you any help with any questions you have. I went from cheap ass FatMat Extreme to Don's CLD tiles and I dont regret anything. I just wish I would have done research and tried not to be so cheap the first go around.
Cheap on the deadner? My system wasn't cheap breh!
Where do you get custom ported boxes at?From what I seen that you posted the only thing I approve of is the Pioneer Component speakers no offense to you.
I dont know what your budget is so I dont have a real clue on what your trying to do.
I dont know what wiring you have... or If you've done the BIG 3.
I say you ditch the kicker subs and pay more for a better quality 12 with a custom ported box specifically for that sub.
Where do you get custom ported boxes at?
you can either go to mom and pop shop and have them build one for you. I know custom sounds can build custom boxes.
I myself was on a car audio forum and found a guy that was in my city that built boxes. I met up with him at a walmart he let me hear his system and I was blown away. I paid him with a money order and a week later he had my box ready.
10s>>>>>>12s>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>15s as far as subs go.. do some of you even care about the quality of the bass?
Using your trunk as an enclosure will not give you the best bass response. I understand that you'd like to save trunk space, but ported boxes>>>>>>>>>>* If you can't sacrifice the space then go for it i guess.
Subs need room to breathe, you don't put 15s in the trunk just because they fit. 15s make more sense in something like an SUV. A pair of 12s>>>>>>> a pair of 15s everyday and I wouldn't even put 12s in my trunk.
I remember we hooked up my boy's altima before he sold it. Custom built twin 10" ported box, which was really a 12" box that we took the face off and fitted it with holes for 10s. Fitted it with 2 W6v3 JLs being constantly fed 600 watts a piece. Sealed the trunk to get rid of the rattling He would come through bumping this You could hear/feel the bass from 2 blocks away and by the time he was a block away from the parking lot, car alarms was already going off, when he got to campus, it just got louder, lower and deeper, but you still couldn't tell when it was coming from. It was just all around you, had people looking around like where the fukk is that coming from? He had to constantly pop the trunk to show people that it was only 2 10s in the trunk because they refused to believe him. nikkas had setups with 3 12s and dual 15s and was like cause their shyt wasn't even in the same league, just loud and hard and when they passed you it sounds like their whips had bubble guts Sparkling highs, clean mids, that shyt sounded heavenly
Not just the box, it was the whole setup. Amps, EQ, subs, crossover etc. and the time we put into it. Clarity/Quality of the sound is more important to me than noise. It seems nikkas just go for the shyt with the highest wattage. What did you fit in your custom box? How much did you pay for your custom box?
All this because he had a ported box?
