You need to be calling out these soy boys on here claiming men hate women cause of this film.

The :mindblowing: thing is that even tho they made this abundantly clear early on in the movie and it was one of the central plot points, people still complained about her monotone acting.

In MOS, Clark Kent grew up on earth and he was monotone for the entire movie for no good reason. Contrast that to Christopher Reeves superman.

People have selective memories.

They both have people they look up to telling them to restrain their emotions, Clark grew up isolated because he couldn't fit in anywhere. It made sense why he was the way he was.

I love both MOS and CM portrayals for the same reason.

Reeves Superman had a different (warmer) Jonathan Kent as well plus he was putting on an act both as Clark and Superman, Superman II revealed how lonely and frustrated he really felt.

I agree with the 6-7/10 scores. Didn't hate it or love it; thought it was aight.

Brie was a bit wooden but I don't think the script or directing did her any favors. Like how a great player benefits from a great coaching staff that can draw up the right plays, i think same can be said with directors and actors sometimes.

MBJ may be a bit limited but we saw Coogler's play calling bring the best out of him by harmonizing Killmonger's lines and persona with MBJ's strengths. We saw Taiki do similar when he shifted Thor to cater more to Hemsworth's knack for dumb jock humor. Buddy who played Talos was completely in his element and having a blast,,, and sure that was completely different from how i'd ever envision a skrull acting.. but i was entertained.

Felt like Brie was a little constrained to what the plot called for; granted this was my first time ever seeing her act lol, so idk.

My biggest pet peeve tho is that the writers didnt have Brie emulate Vegita's open hand energy blasts, or something of comparable swag. Her lil billy blanks tae bo punch to activate it was just too girly and took me out of the film everytime she used it

Honestly it feels too much like a phase 1 joint IMO. Seems like they were scared to make anything more nuanced, which was surprising considering the run from thor3>BP>IW.

Like the whole Kree/Skrull stuff was way too simplistic with the semi-predictible twist, and the whole plot was telegraphed the entire time.

I thought Brie Larson was cool, had more personality than I was expecting. Thought Sam Jack and Jude law were a waste. Ben M. was the mvp though, glad to see bro not play a straight up villain for once.


I guess I'm never going to get spectrum in the mcu either now

I think the thing was “white males” had an issue not all males.

Gotta make sure we clear with what’s being said, unless that report going out is that 60% of males was whites and excluded every other male race demographic

But I also think daylight saving and drinking and taking a few puffs the night before kind of had me in a theater confused than 100% focused so little things in the beginning went over my head.

I don't usually drink or smoke but I happen to do so this weekend making for a rough morning.
