The good guys had a real charm to them. Very likable. Very easy to root for them at the end.

Once the switch though there's not an ounce of menace in the opposition. There's zero reason to think she's in any danger past Midway into this movie. She just kept beating up the same group of people over and over again, and the uses of her powers weren't even that cool.

But I imagine the Russo's will fix all of that.

I didn’t really think she was op at all besides her villains weren’t that powerful and yeah her running was awkward as hell, it looked like it hurt with each stride

I know enjoyment of movies are based on opinions but I'd have a hard time trying the movie opinion of anyone who rates this movie a 7 or above. It just didn't do enough to deserve anything above a mediocre grade. It's a wet towel, nothing of a movie. Not terrible. But just not up to par with the last few marvel entries. Just objectively, this movie is dull

I'm still on the fence about Brie as Carol, most of her quips and one-liners didn't work for me. It's hard to imagine her bantering back and forth with the rest of the team in End Game. It seems to come so natural to the rest of the Avengers cast but she sounds "off". I know y'all talking about "It was apart of her character"

I think the biggest problem with her quips was the writing. Reminded me of a Winter Soldier in that regard. I don't think she's any worse at delivering mediocre one-liners than ScarJo.

Yeah, this was like Black Panther but without the interesting subplot. If you look at Black Panther, T’Challa was probably the 5th or 6th most interesting character in the movie, imo. The subplot about Pan Africanism, My Brother’s keeper, women liberation, and a thriving futuristic African country was riveting.

This movie was kind of set like that with Deavers really not being that interesting. I wanted to see more Nick Fury and Skrulls.

The problem was the feminist subplot wasn’t really moving. Someone said it felt like Marvel had a committee of writers made a really good point. If they had a single person, and there I say it a woman, leading this operation I think this movie could have been better.

I actually think it’s more a 6/10 movie playing it back in my head. I expect Captain Marvel to be better in End Game. I also think the next version will be better if they find the right creative team to back it.

Talos and Maria convincing her of the truth was great. Lashana Lynch put in work in that scene.
The daughter picking colors.

Outside of those two moments this was dry then a motherufcker.

It’s solid. There’s a lot of tell rather than show when it comes to who carol is and what she’s about. But there glimpses of what makes her tick and why she’s special. The stuff in the beginning was kinda meh and was actually dark as hell. Like hard to make stuff out dark.

But once she gets to earth the movie picks up. She won me over as carol and the stuff with her and fury and Maria was really dope. And I liked the ending as well. I’m down to see more of her story and see her grow as a character.

Overall though, I enjoyed myself and just really got into what little bits of her character they did show. Love her attitude and her sense of humor and her impetuous nature. All the shyt with goose was great, and Ben Mendolsohn was incredible. It’s not a great movie but that’s perfectly fine. Whatever they do with her next should be really dope.
