Im hyped as fukk for Civil War but in a way I'd wish they'd done this as Avengers 2 and had a more Cap-centric movie after.
Thor gets a movie and it's a Thor movie. Cap gets a movie and it's co-staring Nick Fury and Black Widow. Next Cap movie co-staring even more Avengers.

Yall say this like EVERYTHING isn't happening in NY. After the events of Avengers 2 how in the world will it make any type of narrative sense to just focus on Cap??
Thor is different. HE'S IN A DIFFERENT DAMN GALAXY.
Then just make Avengers movies. They're calling this movie Captain America: Civil War and it's really just another Avengers movie. Kinda like Man of Steel 2 is becoming a Justice League origins movie.
All I'm saying is it doesn't make sense to call it Captain America and it's really an ensemble film. The second one was good but it was damn near just as much a Black Widow movie as it was a Cap movie.
It's almost as if they're saying he can't hold down a modern age movie by himself.
The writers kind of went over this in commentary for TWS. Pretty much saying Cap is such a pure character like a boy scout it's hard to just write a movie like that for him. But if you bring in all these other elements/characters into Steve Rogers perfect world and see how he would react it makes it more intriguing.

Hawkeye - same reason as Black Widow, he's loyal to SHIELD
Ant Man - if he's based on the current comics, he wants everyone to know he's Ant Man, would favor registration
General Ross - still looking for Hulk, hates Hulk

Agent 13 / Sharon Carter - in love with CAP, probably doesn't trust SHIELD anymore after Winter Soldier
Scarlett Witch - hates Tony Stark
Falcon - loyal to CAP

Vision - He's going to struggle with who's right and wrong between Tony and CAP

You think they'll have discussion of Hulk's whereabouts in this one? Might be true since they bring in General Ross
Edit: Crossbones might be on Stark's side (or maybe neutral since he worked for Hydra and might just want to go against CAP). Wonder who's side Spidey gonna be on tho

Pretty much natural progression when you think about it. Captain America's the main character who works for some sort of group/organisation to do his thing.
Cap 1 was the U.S Army
Cap 2 was SHIELD
Cap 3 is Avengers
Never really noticed how they all lead in to the next movie as a trilogy. First movie ends with him waking up and being approached by SHIELD and Nick Fury. Second movie starts with him working for them and Fury as his boss. Ends with him and Black Widow telling the world that they need them (Avengers). Third movie starts Cap and Widow leading their own Avengers team
