Damn. I usually wouldn't react to one moment in time as if it defines a rapper's whole career, but this is unforgivable.

First of all, any rapper worth his salt has half a dozen generic battle verses memorized. Even if he wanted to say a bunch of new s*** he wrote just for this battle, then totally went blank, he should at least be able to fall back on some bars that maybe not many have heard and just save face by actually spittin.

Secondly, this combined with the "apology" for J Clone is starting a conspiracy theory in my mind. Just based off of Canibus' bars for the past decade plus, I am pretty sure he's smart enough to create a YouTube video (50 Tyson and Reh Dogg were able to manage). Even if he somehow couldn't figure it out, I know he coulda done some damage control after he realized it was sooooo f***ed up... but he didn't.

It seems to me that Canibus is either STUPID high on something serious, losing touch with reality, or working us all on some Andy Kaufman s***. I am inclined to think the latter. I know he has an affinity for pro wrestling (just based on the "You Punish Em" joint he did with Rakim), so - if I am right - this would be him somewhat playing the heel, but on another level. Not being mean but still getting the job done, just being incompetent to such a degree that his most hardcore fans can't even forgive him. It makes no sense to alienate the ones that rocked with you through thick and thin (mostly thin). A real MC would have to be too f***ed up to even talk to do this poorly.

I drew comparisons to that a few posts back, I don't think he's that machiavellian though, I mean he'd have to realize the chances of him pulling that type of play off would have 85% chance of backfiring, so I'm inclined to think nah.

He probably drank and smoked a good portion of that 12 grand.

Whatever the case it came off mad unprofessional that's what irked me.

And if they paid twelve large upfront :lolbron::jawalrus::shaq:

:ohhh:..... I was vaguely thinking about this......just some psychological shiit for the masses, lets face it his name has been mentioned more in the last 48 hours than in a long time, I'm sure he's getting major search engine hits right now.........I'm just glad you said it first

I wouldn't erase his discography though breh, just like I wouldn't erase Ras Kass discography.......there work still speaks for itself, its just that major traumatic moments in time can change folks outlook.....still sad.....I'll still listen...

let me dedicate my first post here to say this:

still a biz fan. still will listen to anything he pressed on wax, even today. even tomorrow.

he is one of the illest to ever do it. EVER.

im sure its a combination of age, drugs, injury and not giving a fukk anymore. sometimes u gotta stop and hang it up. you cant be a performer forever. all performers know this.

the end.
