Rap music was definitely weaponized against the black community, it's not a "conspiracy".....the fact that black people themselves are too blind to see this absolutely breaks my heart because it's so obvious.
Rap music is now the #1 propaganda tool being used to paint the picture of black people as subhumans/ savages to the world.
Your default setting as a black man to the world is now a thug, drugdealer, gangbanger , etc thanks to the popular imagery in rap music.
We never asked for gangster rap and it darn sure has nothing to do with money (the powers that be literally prints the money)....it was all about destroying the perception and reputation of black people globally just like Minstrel Shows did in the past.
Also, as a bonus , it was used to change how black people viewed THEMSELVES......fast forward and even suburban kids from well-off environments are cosplaying as "street dudes":
