Maybe it's because I grew up on a majority Caribbean block but I'm AA and I sometimes get mistaken for either African, Haitian, or Jamaican.

Very interesting topic. Im Nigerian and Haitians have been speaking Kreyol to me since I got to Miami.
They hit the when I reply in English. Not surprised though, I have a very pan African look. I could be from Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone, or Kenya

Clearly, you can see the man wearing the Black jacket is African even if the African in question is Americanized you can tell difference due to his/their appearance.

It's hard to explain how but it's just something that can be easily distinguishable.
