Can we ban the words "bad writing", "plot armor", "rushed" and "fan service" from The Film Room?

Her having her midsection crushed by a giant, but still being able to stab it, is ridiculous.
In earlier seasons Ned got stabbed in the leg and that had him sitting down for a while.
Lyanna was initially thrown aside by a giant, picked up and squeezed to the point we heard crunching, yet still was able to kill it.
How the hell is she even swinging her arms at that point? Why is the giant holding her up and staring at her, instead of just ruthlessly killing her like he would anyone else?
:camby:

That scene is ridiculous and wouldn't be in the show if the directors weren't trying to jam her in there so hard.

Exactly, you'd have to be blindly defending the show try and argue that Lyanna's character/death wasn't fan service. The directors literally admitted it. But people will keep getting their Juelz on anyway.
What's HILARIOUS about the Lyanna Mormont scene is if we going by the "dragonglass=instant dead wight" rule she could've just as easily stabbed the giant in the hand when it grabbed her

She probably would've saved herself from even being crushed to be honest:deadmanny:

Are you tired of seeing the word Avengers? That's been said way more frequently than Deus ex machina but you appear to not have a problem with it

Mods can y'all ban the words Captain America? I'm tired of seeing it:ld:

That's what you're doing bruh
I also see the word “the” a lot. Stop being obtuse.

Y'all ain't keeping the same energy

If a GOAT level show devolves into cheap tropes with no nuance and sloppy writing, coincidentally you'll see an increase in complaints about aforementioned cheap tropes and bad writing

I've been in GOT threads since this board existed and you didn't see the type of complaints about seasons 2-6 that you're seeing about last season and the current one. There are people that watch GOT for a specific threshold of quality, which is all but gone now in relative context. And a lot of the complaints being articulated ain't as caveman as you're making them. There are legitimate criticisms being addressed that are going on outside of this board about the same shyt:manny:

If the people that watched the show because they like death and dragons enjoyed seeing the death and dragons that's FINE. Do you.

And if your enjoyment is that high maybe you shouldn't give energy to people that didn't enjoy it as much as you did and have legit issues with how something has devolved

I enjoyed Endgame a lot, but there was some silly ass shyt in that movie:mjlol: I ain't mad about it, but a nikka come to a discussion board calling shyt silly and nikkas get bent out of shape

To the point where nikkas trying to police words they don't like:mjlol: that shyt is ridiculous bruh

I understand what you are saying but GOT hasnt devolved into any of that, the time for talking about acts of betrayal is over, its wartime. you can say the quality fell off but when you compare it to any other show out its still better than 90% of whats out there..

:yeshrug:

alot of these complaints are bs to me :yeshrug:
those terms mentioned in OP are overused especially this weekend. its group think to me. people are unable to articulate their thoughts without relying on whatever the hot word or phrase is at the moment

the complaints are nitpicky to me none of that shyt really took away from the show and none of the "silly shyt " that happened in endgame was really that silly.. but whatever continue being disappointed and finding issues in everything that isnt perfect.. Im out

Saying something is still better than 90% of what's out is an excuse, especially when GOT has devolved into Walking Dead level cheap mini cliffhangers.

The quality of GOT has fallen off compared to GOT. This is the issue. Again where were all these complaints for the first 6 seasons?

Where did I say I was disappointed with Endgame??? I love the movie but that don't mean I can't acknowledge and make fun of some silly shyt. That's where nikkas getting bent out of shape for no reason

Nah, they're applicable for GoT discussions.

It is hilarious how there's "flavor of the month" terms when complaining about media, though.

I never heard the term "Mary Sue" until Captain Marvel was approaching. That shyt plagued discussions for MONTHS. :russ:
My introduction to that was with "The Force Awakens." I didn't know what the fukk nikkas was talking bout. Been that same way with "incels." Had to look that shyt up:patrice: Guess I'm just turning into a old nikka that's out the loop:manny:

"Mary Sue" did almost get that "used so much, its lost all meaning" treatment. Almost though

Ok but check this..

That has happened in both the comics and cartoons though.

So wouldn’t that technically just be an example of bringing something already done from one medium to any other?

I kinda looked at fan service being some “what ifs” type shyt or when they do pop culture shyt that just blows up like this

That was embarrassingly one of the most “fan service” moves in CBM history EVER and yet much MORE minor shyt since then has been nitpicked and weaponized to used to diss something

THat may have been a good fan service moment if that Juggernaut wasn't so embarrasingly horrible.
And no not imo,you have to think how popular Wonder Woman got in the DCU after her movie with fans, she got over. So fan service would have actually been having her put up a really good fight, and maybe even doing more damage than she should be able to to Superman. THAT would have been service in my eyes when talking about the movies. Before she got popular,I think people would have been fine with Superman easily disposing of Wonder Woman. But for DC to have Superman easily anticlimactically dispose of her with a head butt?that is a failure to give fan service.

But yeah that Juggernaut moment was bad,but things like BVS,or Spiderman 3 I would say are examples of a studio trying to give fan service for a cash grab, instead of giving a proper build up.As bad as the Juggernaut thing was,it wouldn't have ruined a good movie, unlike plots entirely involved around forcefeeding characters to appease fans or make money. MCU clearly is the best at paying attention to fans, and doing the fan service thing right. Fox still won't kill off Mystique no matter how hard fans have cried out:mjcry:

I don’t think he literally wanted the mods to ban the words or phrases.

People do overdo buzzwords and at times it’s damn near cringeworthy.

:manny: I was cool with endgame and GOT

I'll never understand what's wrong with servicing the fans, i mean they keep the shyt in business.
