Can we agree that the shield has been booked perfectly so far?

At first I was like to their theme but now it's because you know someone is gonna catch the beats.

They took out the three guys who are booked the strongest(aside from Brock) like it wasn't nothing.

This is the main thing I liked about them. After years and years (it's a wrestling trope, yeah) of seeing the top guys run to the ring and demolish whole stables or even whole locker rooms in 5 minutes by themselves.......

The Shield routinely swoops in and leaves all your top guys KTFO on broken announce tables or in the middle of the ring or gasping for air wondering where their powers went.

It's VERY refreshing to see top faces (boring invincible heroes) do run-ins one after another and get dat azz beat.

It's predictable booking. And lazy. Cena or Rock would have opened up so many more possibilities. The paid mercenary thing is okay but they can't be portrayed as lackeys. They need tension surrounding them and Punk should be ignorant of how deeply they were involved in saving his title.

I guess the case could be made that they were attacking other random Superstars such as Sheamus/Blandy/Hell No to make people think that they were after any and everyone.

If they were only attacking Punk's current foe it would have been even more obvious that they were being paid off by him and Heyman. Consider it a diversion of sorts.

I would also like to see some friction between them/Punk with Heyman at the helms trying to keep it all together. Punk did still lose the title afterall. Throw in a crazy Brock and you have a few stories within stories right here by itself.

Assuming they don't do any sort of 6-man against Cena and Co. you could then do the reveal at WM with John being behind it all (the beatdowns on him being explained as a farce/act.) Lots of potential here but they are steering it right.... for now.

I agree. I don't see how anyone can say having Cena or The Rock be the leader wouldn't of been a better storyline. I would've gone with Cena to be the leader because he's gonna be around after Wrestlemania to carry the storyline on.

I wouldn't want Cena portrayed as the leader. They need to be booked equally, if not stronger because a guy like Cena would only hire them out of desperation.

After all, they would be the babyface wrestlers who hired thugs the cheat and beat the shyt out of their own allies.

Them being a paid group of mercs is corny. I mean, I guess they're called The Shield and all so I should've seen it coming, but still, fukk that, it's boring.

They haven't been booked perfectly though. They've only been around for two months and some change, and a lot of that has been spent trading beatdowns with Ryback and various faces.

U don't get it. Ur watching a movie about a mysterious killer and the whole movie they point at the killer being 1 person. All signs point to him and then at the end of the movie he's the killer. That's terrible writing. U say the "storyline" was that Heyman and Punk were not "honest" and "real" their HEELS nobody believes their good guys. The Shield should have been aligned with either The Rock or John Cena.

The thing about it is The Shield are in a position to guide any story flow wherever the WWE wants it to go. Basically they are doing with them what they should have done with the Nexus (what WAS that higher purpose anyway?). Anyone could buy off the shield and use them to their will. Think of it.

-Dolph could use them for the heavyweight championship cash in

- Cena can use them to finally beat the Rock in a desperate attempt to not be in a downward spiral like last year.

-Punk could use them to springboard into a feud with the Undertaker upon his return.

-Vince could use them to take oit Brock by outbidding Heyman.

So many avenues you could go with. Its compelling because you dont know where they will go from here.

I'm sorry, I don't dislike the Shield, but I found Nexus more entertaining and better. Also the sad thing is, you can already tell when they split only one guy from this team is gonna go on to be the bigger star
