You've never played organized sports outside of gym class have you?

Of course i have and at much higher levels than you....but organized sports and the NBA are 2 different things.
At the higherst level ur no longer in control of ur daily life.

You're just making up shyt. No one playing at his level has ever retired for that reason.

Yeah, when he was playing 43 minutes/game on an injured foot in the 2023 WCF, he definitely was just looking for money, not trying to win a chip. :mjlol:

Y'all just say anything at this point, and it comes solely from projecting your own feelings rather than from anything you see. 20 years of hate has rotted your brains.

Why are you looking for comparisons to his situations ? Who gives a fukk if there is or isnt one.How many 40 yr old ball players are billionaires ?
That WCF is now 2 years ago in the rear view they didnt win and they werent that close...Hes not close to winning a ring last year THIS year or next year so outside of Bronny what reason is there for doing it still ? I still maintain nobody will come close these records because most players reagrdless of how good they are at 40 arent gonna wanna keep going at that age...

You think hes trying to win a title with the team hes got now ?? :russ:

You're asking if he's trying to win with a better version of the team that was within a few points of taking out the champs in the WCF just 15 months ago, despite Bron being hurt, the #3 player looking like shyt and the head coach being a basketball terrorist?

He straight up told Lakers management this summer that he would take a salary cut if they could pull in an elite third player, and gave them a list to chase. So of course he's still trying to win a title. Now they're banking on running into the right midseason trade, but even with the current lineup they could be a contender if they click and the right opposing teams have injuries. Was Golden State any better a squad in 2022, or even Denver in 2023?

"I need to criticize LeBron for something that no other player in NBA history has ever been criticized for before, because LeBron is uniquely good at an older age."

That WCF is now 2 years ago in the rear view they didnt win and they werent that close to be honest and hes still going...

3 out of 4 games went down to the wire despite D-Lo getting outscored 130 to 25 by Jamaal Murray. Your #3 option getting outscored by 26ppg by a player who has never even made an All-Star game is crazy. If D-Lo had even been slightly useful on either end (say he "held" Murray to 25ppg while at least managing 10ppg himself), then the Lakers would have been up at least 3 games to 1 and ready to advance to the Finals, where they would have easily beat the Heat again. So yes, they were damn close.

So the only reason to play professional basketball is to win rings? You're saying 23-24 teams are just mailing it in on an annual basis because they won't win that year?

Why was 39yo Hakeem playing ball five years after his last playoff win?
Why did 39yo MJ play for the Wizards with no chance to win a ring?
Why was 37yo Kobe still balling 6 years past his last competitive team?

And they weren't even CLOSE to as good as LeBron is. You're literally saying that LeBron should retire because his competition is too strong.

Theyre not a contender and wont be for the remainder of his career unless he moves. He told them to make moves the year they brought in Rui and Vanderbilt it didnt change anything.

Theyre not a current contender as is bro just stop it theyre a 9th-10th place team in the west. That bench is fukkn AWFUL.

IM not saying he should retire i never said that and thats not what this thread was about.I simply said none of his records will likely be broken because nobody will want to keep playing til 42-43 like he does...

Man, fukk all star selections, all star mvp, one of the most overrated individual accolade.

You have to come into the league at 18 and basically start dominating immediately rookie season or 2nd yr to catch bron

Luka, tatum, giannis are probably the only current players headed in that trajectory.

Luka is 25 only yrs old and already has 5 all nba and 5 all star selections. He’s the only player who has a chance of catching of surpassing brons individual numbers.

Having said that, i doubt his body holds up to play past 35.

No one else in NBA history has made an All-NBA team past age 38, so whether they keep playing until 42 is irrelevant.

Kareem made All-NBA at 38, kept starting for a contender for 3 more seasons and still couldn't even come close to making another one.

Duncan made All-NBA at 38, but that was his only All-NBA selection in his last 3 seasons and one of just 2 selections in his last 6 seasons.

Malone made All-NBA at 37, played 3 more seasons and didn't make another one.

CP3 made All-NBA at 36, this is his 3rd season since then and he's never making another one.

Hakeem made All-NBA at 36, played 3 more seasons after that and never came close to making another one.

Stockton made All-NBA at 36, played 4 more seasons and never made another one.

Shaq made All-NBA at 36, that was his only All-NBA selection in his final 7 seasons.

Jordan made All-NBA at 34, he probably could have still made it at 35-36, but when he tried at 38-39 he couldn't do it.

No one in NBA history has ever been anywhere near All-NBA level at 40, so longevity is irrelevant. They all fell off well before then.
