nas has one of the best discograpphys in the game your buggin
1.Def Jam Recordings - Wikipedianikka 1.Warren G first album dropped in 94. This is 4 years later. Def Jam was in a bad state at that time as well. Anybody who worked in the Def Jam buildings at the time will tell u X saved Def Jam. And Jay Z came behind him. And who said Ruff Ryder's Anthem wasn't loved by all or Iconic? Did I EVER say he didn't need Swizz? 2.I said he shouldn't have gotten RID OF Dame Grease. 3.If he kept ALL of his original producers he would have a better musical discography imo. He lost something that he had with the other producers when he started relying damn near solely on Swizz.
No one said Warren G didn't save Def Jam. I said DMX and Jay came thru 4 years later and did it AGAIN nikka. I'm done talkin bout this Swizz shyt. Lol.1.Def Jam Recordings - Wikipedia
By 1992, despite recent multi-platinum selling releases from Public Enemy, and EPMD, Def Jam ran into severe financial troubles and was faced with folding. However, in 1994, PolyGram purchased Sony's 50% stake in Def Jam Recordings — subsequently bringing the label into its fold. Following PolyGram's purchase, Def Jam distributed the Violator Records-signed artist Warren G's Regulate... G Funk Era album, which went triple platinum and brought much-needed revenue to Def Jam through its distribution deal with Violator.[8]
Def jam did great business with the roc,dmx ja etc but warren saved them in their hard times.
2.Cause you said so?
He did fine without him.
3.fukk your opinion let's deal with facts. Who did better, them or swizz?
Swizz made more notable shyt than them combined.
These nikkas couldn't have been X fans from the jump. This is shyt that shouldn't have to be explained. nikka over there talkin bout hits n shyt. When at the time. Most shyt bumpin out nikkas whips was The Intro. Damien. Stop Being Greedy. How's It Goin Down(Radio version was NOT better by the way). Etc. Ruff Ryder's Anthem was bumped heavy too but not initially over those tracks.
You're my muslim brother, but we know damn well your hate for Nas on this forum is well known. Out of 10 solo studio albums, 2 are average and below with Nastradamus and Street's disciple, every other album is easily 4 mics or above, with 3 of them clockin in at 5.Too much inconsistency and albums are overrated just coz Nas' name is on the front

illmatic- 5 micsCouldn't disagree more.
Nastradamus, Street's Disciple are below average. I Am and HHID are average. That's 4. The rest are solid to great and then 2 classics imo in IWW and Illmatic.
It's not a bad discography by any means. But overrated for sure.
What's the inconsistency nastradamus is the only wack one and that's not really wack all the other ones are 4 mics and up
You just rated illmatic 4 mics?????? IWW, lost tapes and Stillmatic only 4?No, 4 mics is extremely generous.
His 4 mic albums are: Illmatic, It Was Written, Lost Tapes (if it counts), Stillmatic
Nothing else there is 4 mics. You have some 3.5 mics in there maybe like Life is Good, God's Son etc.
That's what I mean by overrated.
Other artists of his calibre have better discogs, it's that simple.
illmatic- 5 mics
IWW- 5 mics
I am- 4.5 mics
Nastradamus- 3.5 mics
Stillmatic- 5 mics
God Son- 4 mics
Streets disciple- 3.5 mics
Hip Hop is Dead- 4 mics
Untitled- 4.5 mics
Life is good- 4.5 mics
Lost Tapes- 4.5 mics
Distant Relatives- Damn Near 5, but i'll say 4.5
