Some of these rappers don't even have half of his discography. Nas might be more into the core love of it but that doesn't mean Jay doesn't love it either.

This is common sense, lol. I think Jayz loves hip hop too, he was raised by it and influenced by it just like Nas was...but, as everyone's girl has said to them before, loving something/someone and being in love with it/them are two different things.
Nas is in love with hip hop, Steve Stoute and Irv Gotti and madd other people have said if you want to lose Nas' interest when discussing music/things in general then bring up money...he doesn't care, he's about the art. Whereas Jayz is one of the original "I'm just a hustler who can rap" type rappers. Cam on point.

Some of those shows are business oriented, i don't know what prevented him from coming but Jay is a billion dollar man. The NFL stuff and the Brady performance does look funny but we don't know what was the reason for not being there.

Jay met with Rakim not long ago during a award show, we can't say Jay doesn't love Hip Hop but he should've been at the Hip Hop 50th show. It would've made him look more mortal than just a cash cow.
