Yeah, anything repetitive will make me mentally claustrophobic. I can do a 30 mile bike ride as long as the scenery changes; if the terrain is flat and I keep going straight and see the same type of shyt, I'm ready to quit after 5 miles. But playing games with my mind, like trying to beat time limit goals and shyt definitely keeps my mind stimulated. I've been doing 200-250 pushups at the end of every workout, in sets of 30, 35, or 40. In order for it to work I have to do each set in a different location in the gym, starting on the 3rd floor and going down, then a couple sets in the steam room, a couple in the locker room, one in the bathroom. And I keep the time running, try to set a new personal record each time. Otherwise I'd get bored after 3 sets.

:ohhh: I gotta try this.

I have a new routine that's been keeping me interested. I do my dips and pull-ups in the main gym for 15 minutes... as much as I can do. Then I go to the basketball court and make 20 jumpers then knock out 20 pushups and 20 dips right there on the court. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

It's an on campus gym and I go early so no one is ever on the courts. I even bring my bluetooth speaker so I can jam out while I do it. :blessed:

The more structure you have the less that happens. I split it up into 10 sets of 25 and set a 30 minute time limit. I try to improve my time constantly. I wanna eventually be doing sets of 50

I know my ass is out of shape so as far as reps let's say for pushups, if I keep it at 10 to 12 for 10 sets for about 3 days a week think I may feel something or go for more days?

Listen to your body, but I would aim for 5 days a week if you can

been out the gym for like 4 months finally got back yesterday and did some weighted squats and pull-ups/dips. Should i incorporate any weight training at all? @Originalgangsta317 i want to work on strictly a calisthenic routine like you are doing but I'm not sure if i should dive straight into calisthenics

felt :flabbynsick: doing pull-ups and dips, i had to use the assisted machine

I mean it's up to you breh, but its going to take some time to get the calisthenics game strong so if you wanna throw weights in until you can get right with calisthenics, then gone a head bro

felt weak as fukking doing dips and pull-ups. Will doing weights at first increase my strength enough to do dips and pull ups at a easier rate? or should i just continue to focus on the bodyweight?

Nope just focus on the bodyweight breh. Lots of guys who can lift heavy weights but can't do body weight exercises
