The american power nexus that established the country had more admiration for the Greeks than the average white person (european or otherwise) does. I think that's where the confusion is here.
Greek Architecture, rules of governance and idioms are all through America's shyt. That's why we associate it with "white" people. When in actuality as @mbewane said the connection is MUCH closer to the Romans than it is to the Greeks in Europe. Hell, much of Europe STILL has remnants of the Romans dotted all over it. This is not so for the Greeks.
Remember the two civilizations were CENTURIES apart.
And Scandinavians are well aware of the savagery of their Viking ancestors. I think this topic is functioning off a false narrative that ALL white people have some sort of kindred connection to Greece...which they don't. In fact, the Greeks get shytted on by the rest of Europe (like the Spanish and the Italians) for being basically dark skinned, damn near Arab/African.
