And that's Mario's fault, nor Rondo's. Since you seem to be the expert, what the hell was Rondo supposed to do as the PG for Pierce, Allen, and KG??
Im not an expert and I think rondo has great court vision and passing ability. Im not hating at all I just dont think hes an all star franchise type player.

He has looked good when healthy. Did you watch his first year with the Nets? Did you see him last year even though last year he was still limping to some degree

Dont get me wrong bro. I'd take Rondo on my team right now. But only because i know i have good players that can finish. Rondo will just make their jobs easier. But the nonsense people used to have with putting Rondo in the same level as Rose or CP3 or Deron was always nonsense to me.

To put it simply: Rondo is not a player you build around. Rondo is not a corner stone. Rondo is not a role player either. He's just a good player.

So what do you say about Jason Kidd?

Better yet, who's a point guard that you'd build a team around? And has that point guard won a championship or even made a finals appear?

Jason Kidd carried the Nets to the finals, breh. Dont ever mention Rondo and Jason Kidd in the sme sentence ever again.

Who did Kidd have by his side? Kerry Kittles? Keith Van Horn? Kenyon Martin? Jason freakin Collins? Richard freakin Jefferson?

Kidd in is prime was an offensive maestro. Not no assist starving dude who will do anything to get an assist and not take a shot.

OK my point being is that Rondo hasn't had much chance to prove that he can lead a team seeing as that he was out injured during the ONE season without the big 3. More specifically, I'm disputing your point that you can't build around Rondo, just because he can't score. This is his first full chance at disproving your *baseless* point. Let the man live. Let him play.

Reading comprehension, breh.

Rondo is a warrior. Might not be the best offensive weapon but give me Rondo in the fourth of a playoff game. Homie went toe to toe with Lebron. Until this recent injury stint he was on his way to being a superstar pg

Live your own life
Rondo is effective if he is surrounded by players who can hit shots and finish on the paint. He can bring other tangibles beside facilitating an offense such as defense and rebounding. His weakness can be detrimental to an offense when defenders give him space and shut off his teammates. In this instant, Rondo get confused and start to over think before he makes a decision to shoot the ball. The flaw in his game will always bar him from the pantheon of elite point guards. I couldn't even called him a pure point guard because sometime his vulnerability slow down the offense.

That's why he went HAM repeatedly in the playoffs (averaging damn near a triple double) against teams like D-Rose's Bulls and LeBron's Heat.

I can't co-sign.

Look, buddy.

I understand you're a Celtics fan and your feelings are tied up in this. Rondo is a good player. SOme may even say VERY good player. But If he never played #1 For the Celtics and #2 with the big 3 he would be Jeff Teague status in the league which is basically top 10 at his position (arguably) but not all that special. My point remains he has never been in the same class as D-Rose or CP3 or even Deron Williams (when healthy). I'll just leave it at that. You can reply all you want and make a case for your boy. But sometimes you gotta look at your own players and question whether you are overrating them because of your sentimal attachment to the team.

For example Ive been a Heat fan since about 91. Even while Lebron was still playing for the Heat i always said Mashburn is my favorite Heat SF ever. However i cant look at you and say Mashburn belongs in no hall of fame with a straight face. I have to be aware of my own bias and keep it in check so i dont sound like a fool and lose credibility.

Same with Rondo. Ask anyone and they'll tell you i LOOOVE me these "pass first" type PGs and despise the "shoot-first" PGs like AI and the likes. That is why I like Rondo and would take him on my team. But he aint no cornerstone/franchise type player. STOP IT

I'm tired of this flawed argument. Not even going to waste time debating it with you. Your argument is derived from faulty analytics that will never truly explain the complexities of the game. But keep spouting this nonsense to act like you know something.

LOLwhat? The current C's pace is 2nd in the league. Look it up.

Too much unsubstantiated opinion, buddy.

Rondo is an elite PG when healthy. Look at his stats. Look at his individual playoff performances.

To your point that Rondo isn't a cornerstone PG, I think it's absurd to make that statement when he hasn't had much of a chance to prove otherwise (he was injured for most of last year).

And which PG would you build your team around? Has that PG won before? Has he been the the Finals? If we're talking about winning it all, I'd go with Tony Parker. After him, give me Rondo.
