I don’t think you know what imperialism is, if you did, you won’t post something as ignorant/ludicrous/insensitive (in context of this thread & Francophone West Africa) as what you posted. In case you don’t know how insensitive it’s - it’s basically like saying hate crime committed due racism is worse than slavery.
Perhaps you need to read more about French colonialism & its legacy in Africa (it’s just as barbaric as the Belgians). Then again, you’re from a region in Africa where the French didn’t have colonies.
I don’t even give a fukk about Islam & whatever the fukk they worship but there are more ethnic problems caused due to colonialism, its legacy & colonial borders in West Africa - than anything to do with Islam. Heck, even the wave of Jihadists trooping to West Africa is by design due to the destruction of Libya by France/US/UK & these Jihadists were armed by the same countries.
Most of the problems in these hot spots are caused by ethnic problems & the 2 constants are 2 nomadic ethnic groups - Tuaregs & Fulanis. The Tuaregs in NE of Mali & NW of Niger want their own country & they’re fighting for it. While the Fulanis are just a menace everywhere. And that’s basically what the western armed Jihadists are trying to exploit. And you have Boko Haram in Nigeria which started with Kanuris but got hijacked by Jihadists from Libya.
Islam has been in West Africa since the 9th century or so with no problems whatsoever until probably the 19th century with Fulanis. And most West African ethnic groups defeated them during their Jihad but after the Berlin Conference of 1885 - Western countries empowered them to conquer other ethnic groups. I’d wager that there are more Muslims in West Africa than Christians. Most Mandes (from Mandinka, to Sonnike, to Bosso or Bozo, to Bambara) are Muslims, Wolof, etc. West Africa isn’t East Africa.
Not saying Islam isn’t a problem but there’s a bigger problem that’s allowing the Islamic problem to thrive & that’s what this thread is about. If you want to discuss Islamic imperialism in Africa - create a thread for it. And Christian imperialism in Africa is just as bad tbh - the only difference is that African Christians aren’t violent yet but they stay robbing African brains, bank accounts & souls.
