he been on that #EuropeanExcellence for a while, and frankly im getting disgusted.

shyt's disgusting, they have no fight in them.

Saw a French writer say we're close to Schneiderlin not too excited even if he is good.

Think we lacked the aggression and directness of Sanchez, Campbell, and Aurier last season.

What?? :damn: The hell else does he have to do to get a shot?

:manny: It's amazing when you see shytofftheballdoesnothingfor90minutesbutgetsagoalandassist Podolski and Yaya Sanago (i like him but still) getting chances.

He said he was real close to selling him either last summer or the one before. Really think the World Cup is the only reason he is going to be at London Colney in a few weeks.

Balotelli at Arsenal would be an interesting project. Shame he's a mental midget.

im legit sickened. We need that fire and difference making and hunger.

Campbell gonna come out and ball, and Wenger still gonna sell and complain we lack fire and pace, etc.

Deadly penalties: Brazil fan has heart attack during World Cup game vs Chile

brazil.si.jpg

A Brazil fan went into cardiac arrest while supporting the host nation in a World Cup game against Chile. The man was reportedly watching the dramatic penalty shoot-out at a bar when the heart attack struck. He later passed away at a local hospital.

The 69-year-old man was watching the Brazil vs Chile round of 16 match in a bar not far from Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte on Saturday. The game was intense.

Lalas sound mad :russ:

Dude be trying to flex on Ballack because Ballack don't speak english well. He and Twellman kind of ganged up on Ballack basically they were saying it was unfair for Van Gaal to use the water break to rearrange his tactics and that every team/coach should be able to do that in other games:dead: fukking idiots man

they said 3 pl teams offered for him, im guessing arsenal, liverpool and either city or united.

honestly cant him going to liverpool even if it involves the suarez deal or even united.

if city offer them 200k wages, we aint gonna get him :(

not sure if it's been discussed already, but what's the deal with Robben admitting that he dived earlier in the game? Doesn't FIFA have the right to penalize someone after the fact?

First Cameroon, Then Ghana, Now Nigeria: African Teams Demand World Cup Money
Will pay issues derail Africa's soccer ambitions?
nige1a.jpg

On the heels of the news that Ghana sent a plane to Brazil loaded with millions of dollars in cash to pay their World Cup squad, comes news that Nigeria’s world cup team missed a critical day of training amid squabbles over bonus pay. Reports from their training camp confirm the Super Eagles canceled a training session on Thursday to talk about money.

It’s the third pay dispute involving an African team. Cameroon arrived one day late in Brazil after players refused to travel until bonuses were agreed. Of the five African teams in Brazil—Nigeria, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroon—three of them have had their World Cup ambitions nearly derailed by pay issues.

According to the BBC, “Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has assured the country’s senior players at the World Cup that the squad will be paid their bonus money”.

USA Today reports FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke says action is needed after Ghana players threatened not to play Portugal Thursday until money arrived from Africa, saying, “it’s sad that we end up with such a story where they were talking in some way about a strike. The fact that the money came in cash is also sad.”

He also stresses the soccer governing body will take steps against issues of pay seriously distracting from play again saying FIFA “we will make sure” that participating national associations show written agreements of paying players by bank transfer.

Unfortunately, pay disputes is not new to African teams. Remember Togo at the World Cup in 2006? At the core is a lack of trust between players and their national federations: That the money promised to players before a World Cup is actually ponied up.

Ghana and Cameroon were sent packing after failing to qualify for the World Cup knockout stage. Ghana just one day after the money was flown in.

Nigeria and Algeria are the only two teams left standing from the continent. With Nigeria gearing up to play France, a team that has burning it up in Brazil conventional thinking should be a singular focus on training and conditioning not worries about compensation.

Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo said in a statement “We have reached this stage of the tournament, which is a special privilege, and we cannot afford to let the whole of Africa and especially Nigeria down. So please … allow us to focus on our football and nothing else.”

It’s Nigeria’s first game in a World Cup knockout stage since 1998 and the first time more than one African nation has made it into the second round at a World Cup.

Hopefully we can see them just play ball.

http://purelyfootball.com/2014/06/2...ime-minister-spend-new-sports-centre-instead/

Greece National Team tells Prime Minister to use the bonus money on a new training facility for the team.

However, on a positive note now, the Greek national team have written a letter to their prime minister Antonis Samaras to tell them they are not interested in a World Cup bonus. Instead, they want the money to be spent on a new sports centre for the national team.

The letter which was signed by all 23 players read:

“We do not want as extra bonus, or money. We only play for Greece and its people. All we want is for you to support our effort to find a land and create a sports centre that will house our National team.”

A touch of class!

Arjen Robben admits diving for a penalty...:krs: :wtf::win::smugdraper:

but not for the injury-time spot-kick that put Holland through and dumped out Mexico :troll::steviej::smugbiden::umad:

article-2674147-1F3F911A00000578-847_634x398.jpg

Arjen Robben admitted trying to con the referee in Holland's 2-1 victory over Mexico.

The Dutchman revealed that he dived in an attempt to win a penalty - but not for the decisive 93rd minute spot-kick that secured Holland's progression to the quarter-finals.

Robben had two penalty appeals turned down earlier in the match - before Klaas Jan Huntelaar converted in injury time - and later apologised for trying to fool Portuguese official Pedro Proenca.

'I must apologise,' said Robben. 'The one [at the end] was a penalty, but the other one was a dive in the first half. I shouldn't be doing that.'

Robben was awarded the late penalty when he was tripped by Mexico skipper Rafael Marquez, but the Bayern Munich star previously had two appeals turned down when his side were trailing 1-0.

Holland eventually drew level, with three minutes of regular time left to play, through a vicious strike from Wesley Sneijder. Robben's unsuccessful appeals fell either side of half time and, after finally convincing Proenca in the dying moments of the last 16 knock-out, he entrusted Huntelaar with the crucial kick.

'Usually I am comfortable with taking a penalty, but this time I was the one who was tackled,' said Robben. 'I felt comfortable that Huntelaar would capitalise.

'It was his moment, he deserved this. I'm almost crying from the emotions. The feeling is so strong, we want to win this, to fight together. These youngsters ... I am so proud.'

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera was furious and, after remonstrating with officials and Dutch players at full time, labelled Robben a cheat.
