I don't think it would be that big of a deal if a Bucks player yelled at Becky.

She honestly shouldn’t even be getting considered ... that’s the problem ... I think she should be considered at some point but not now. And the optics of Geno yelling at an 18 year old freshman young woman is totally different from a black , 6’10” pf aggressively arguing face to face with Becky .

Wish black men didn’t have to be concerned with those optics and I struggle with whether black men SHOULD be concerned with it , but society unfortunately won’t allow for blind ignorance ... especially in this new “I’m Offended” era ...

On the flip , I doubt you’d see many flare ups like that because women usually have more of a calming effect on men and can diffuse shyt better and can build up strong rapport equity as only a woman can do (and it seems as if she’s been able to do that) ... and I’m sure Becky would go to bat for her players if — and when — the media blows up an in-game argument situation.

As with ALL good Head coaches, tho, she’d need a really solid top assistant .

But Basketball is really the ONLY sport in the Big 4 (NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA) where a woman HC could be successful .

And outside of that , maybe professional soccer. I’d like to see it in my lifetime . I just don’t feel like the timing is right for her right now. Good on her if she gets it.

And as another poster said, too many other more qualified candidates are being overlooked.

Honestly think a woman, most head coaching candidates , should at least be the top assistant before getting HC consideration ... I feel like this is really being forced as others have mentioned .

that's an extreme example, but the point remains. aggressive behaviour, whether physical or mental, will look worse with a female coach than a male. especially a white female coach with a black player

It's not so much about her being a woman as it is about her being able to command the attention and respect of men who are at the top of their profession, among the greatest athletes on the planet.

You'd be asking alot from any woman to be able to do that. You're talking about the biggest egos on the planet. What pedigree does she even have to warrant such a position?

She’s a former player. An assistant under one fo the great coaches of all time. You say this when an former Asian film boy is the coach of the heat and there are other head coaches who were 12th man in random Turkish professional league. I’m not even advocating for her to get this job she still green. But trust a woman will be coaching in this league.

I mean she’s been coaching for four years, and Jason Kidd and Derek Fisher got jobs with no coaching experience, Becky is under the Pop system, a system featuring very good coaches like Mike Budenholzer which some fans are clamoring for their franchise to hire, so idk man, if the timing isn’t right now, then when?

Personally, a female coach I would love to see in the NBA is Dawn Staley but she just doesn’t have that NBA experience.
