Yeah, but you saying that you would rather listen to autotune shyt on trap beats? :hubie:

There isnt much variety in the mainstream, and the underground is so cluttered, it will take you WEEKS before you find what you want.

i dont think i ever heard anyone compare him to mike or prince:usure:
Me either. I mean if youre not a fan, just say that, but folks dont have to go to THAT length to put dude down:snoop: Such comparisons are wildly unfair to begin with.
If anything, I think Bruno gets too much unwarranted hate from some folks, and to keep it real, most of it is simply because "he does black music, but isnt black". Lets be real, if he were black, these threads would be different :comeon:
As others have said, hes good for what he is. I really doubt anyones expecting MJ or Prince level music out of him, nor are even putting him anywhere near their realm, his music is refreshing because it brings a sound back that many from certain eras have missed in a modernized form. And yeah hes gonna have similarities to the artists who inspired him, who doesnt?:mjtf:
Facts are, as others even said, damn near everyone making hits play it safe these days, and mainstream pop/RnB/etc has been for the most part soulless and bland altogether so folks should actually be glad hes taking it back to the sounds he does.

His music is too..dull. He doesn't take risks...and he just tries to recreate the music that he is a fan of instead of trying to experiment or push new boundaries..

The comparisons to Mike and Prince need to end..especially Prince just because they both multi instrumentalist.

Prince had the whole gender bender shyt..the mysterious image....plus his drum machine programming with the linn was groundbreaking, being a big factor in the Minneaplos FUNK sound....and several other things.

Like his songs feel the same ..you know he gonna throw in some cheesy ass line

"Pretty girls around n they waking up the dragon"

shyt like that..

He goes for the Mike formula of waiting years in between releases to write songs that appeal to most and are catchy...But Mike did it better and exposed himself(Heartbreak Hotel for example...Wanna be Startin was about his brother's wives..).his lyrical content was far superior...
Billie Jean is one of his brothers wives? :ohhh:

I wanna ask because I thought Billie Jean was his lover do yall think he smashed? I mean she was for the streets

I don’t think Bruno is safe per se, I mean he did catch the coke charges and his shyt with silk sonic is a breath of fresh air, kind of in that weekend route. Provocative these days is just sex and I’m glad he’s not going some overt perverse route like the female rappers and lil nas x.

He forms the trio with The Weeknd and Frank Ocean. You can get your lust for experimentation and lyrics from those other two.

It's like criticizing Drake when Cole and Kendrick exist.

You know
Yea he's good for a well produced song that is catchy and will be played on radio and shyt for a year but that's it...he's like karaoke.

You know you ain't gonna get no deep shyt from him like Confessions or social commentary from him or anything like that.
The majority of people don’t care about “deep shyt” :yeshrug: just good music and stuff that make you feel good

This is the mark of greatness. Only person I've ever seen who can drop dope music quickly s R. Kelly. Other thwn that, writing great songs takes time.

He's not doing it on purpose. Some songs take 2 years to work on. That's why they last the test of time
