100% wrong and revisionist history.

Go through the archives of the Miami Herald and read about the physical assaults on Haitians and the discrimination going on by employers and landlords.

Your theory about it all spilling out from street shyt is completely off.

So I guess this a basic case of "He say vs She say".

So I guess You're taking the word of the Miami Herald (ran by Cubans btw) over the words of a direct decendent of the aframs who built the flagler railroad and open the door for third world immigration.

Am I right? Please let me know because you have a lot to say about a variety of regional topics that you dont know shyt about.

@ab.aspectus your Haitian girlfriend doesn’t know Zoe means bone?

She’s not from the hood so she really don’t know about hood Haitian culture.

And there are about three different definitions of Zoe that were given in this thread so apparently there is not a consensus here either. :manny:

1) Animal bones
2) Any type of bones
3) Hard on

Above the fray.
bahamians being in florida for over 150 years is facts

Bahamian Americans - Wikipedia

Aframs outside of FL and NYC didn't know or encounter haitians to have any real opinion of them. This movie is about all they knew

unlike the latin american/west indians nations that had longer/more direct encounters with them

Not sure what the information about Bahamian Americans is supposed to prove or disprove.

In post #60 of this thread, I posted a report from the U.S. Census Bureau about the history of the 5 largest Black immigrant groups to America. Ethiopians,Nigerians,Haitians,Jamaicans, and Trinidadians & Tobagons.
Page 2 has a population chart from 1980 to 2012, pages 4 and 6 have maps of where those communities are located.

It's in the spoiler if you don't want to go back

When Aids first became a national story.....news media mentioned the at risk groups...the 4 Hs...hemophiliacs, heroin users, homosexuals and Haitians. So before a person ever met an actual Haitian person......the news media had already attached a stigma. Again, like I said it was full 6 year run of stories of "boat people" and"Aids carriers". The voodoo depictions started decades before Serpent and the Rainbow. None of this is just my opinion, and google search will confirm it all for those who don't go back that far.

But I grew up in Miami and still live here :gucci:

Where are you getting YOUR information from?
Grimey Haitians in Miami weren’t a thing until until they decided not to tolerate the BS anymore.

:duck: lie.

Every racial/ethnic group has it's groups of criminals and sociopaths.

The only difference is when those people migrate here and continue that same anti-social behavior, foreigners blame the new country instead of their own shiity parenting.

During the Zoe pound documentary the gang members said it meant bone and that’s what I grew up learning it to be.

For example if your girl is eating chicken her dad probably told her at least once that she left some chicken on the bone (aka so)

But you are right I see different definition but that’s the definition I grew up with.

as far as the whole haitian/aa dynamic goes, if we're really being consistent, the facts are easy to pull up. The facts are, the average afram has never met a haitian (most aframs don't live in NY or Florida) and because of that, feels no type of way about them positive or negatively. While we know for a fact that entire caribean nations, both Latin and West Indian feel some type of way about Haitians even before they encounter one another on USA soil.
North Florida and the panhandle been had Aframs. SoFla been had Afram migration later on(post Bahamian migration), but you make valid points.

Haitian criminals operated on their own and were adults during those times.

A Haitian group gang or organization? I don’t think so. Or else this would have been known via news reports.

For example everyone knows about the Jamaican Shower Posse and their criminal and sociopath elements during the crack wars.

The Haitians who were crazy 9 out of 10 times did their own people dirty or they hung around with a crew that wasn’t Haitian.

I don’t know of any history of Haitians pushing work in a black area and getting Chased out during the 70s and 80s.

You have to at least have one source to verify this.

Guess you could call it that.

I guess born Mexicans probably dont care to be called "chicanos" the same way i dont care for the term Zoe. I was in Costa Rica in 2015 and was chilling with these chicks. All tourists. One of them was obviously latina and i asked her where she was from and she said "Mexico" to which i said "ahhh la chicana!" and she corrected me and said "No papi. Mexicana!":martin:. Meanwhile my mexican jumpoff of 10+ years now refers to herself as a "chicana"
Homegirl was thicker than a bowl of oat meal like them brehs be saying :banderas:
You been a dry dikk simp since sohh
Probably still sending hoes money thru Western Union

:heh:

Not sure what the information about Bahamian Americans is supposed to prove or disprove.

it supports the opinion of just how, non-afram, the florida black population was/could be. So many of the people that are being singled as afram in florida were americanized bahamians and since they had no accent, they wouldn't stand out is the point Im making

we're talking mainly florida and NYC. The 2 areas where afram/haitian/other west indian contact wold most likely occur. There is a video on youtube where a Haitain girl from brooklyn , said every west indian/carib group from trinis, bajans, dominicans, jamaicans etc.... all attacked haitains. She said there was some conspiracy for aframs and all these other groups to link up and bully haitains:mindblown:

When Aids first became a national story.....news media mentioned the at risk groups...the 4 Hs...hemophiliacs, heroin users, homosexuals and Haitians. So before a person ever met an actual Haitian person......the news media had already attached a stigma. Again, like I said it was full 6 year run of stories of "boat people" and"Aids carriers". The voodoo depictions started decades before Serpent and the Rainbow. None of this is just my opinion, and google search will confirm it all for those who don't go back that far.

and with all that being said, most aframs had no contact with haitians so they had no real opinion of them[/quote]

It shouldnt be a shock that many younger cats support Kodak while OGs dont. These younger cats dont have any respect, morals, values or code. Real is universal and the real dont recognize Kodak. Thats why Nipsey gets more respect even from FL. When youre gonna dap the man all smiles to his face then say some fukk shyt like he did right after his death, youre a whole bytch ass nikka all around.

While you are correct in Bahamian migaration to SoFla being a thing for over 150yrs, we need to be careful not to discount AA history and cultural influence in SoFla and everything AA's brought to the game. Bahamians were clearly influenced by AA's. Religiously, linguistically, and there was back and fourth influence cuisine wise. SoFla and Florida as a whole is a great mixture of "similar" sub groups of blacks. AA's from The Piedmont/Low Country-GeechieAA's/Bahamians/Haitian/Jamaican/Other West Indian(Trinidadian, Bajan, Antuigan, etc) all inhabit Florida, and have lived amongst each other for decades. Diffirent cuisines such as "Floribbean Cuisine" have sprang from these clash of cultures.

But I grew up in Miami and still live here :gucci:

Where are you getting YOUR information from?

Most people who have Haitian heritage have family in Miami,West Palm Beach, Orlando (and maybe Jacksonville). I have family
mostly in South Florida.
Haitian Americans have written articles and books about this common experience.
Wyclef had skit and a few references to it on Fugees and solo albums, Edwidge Danticat has written about it. Less famous Haitian artists and celebs from Miami have discussed it over the years.

No, it's a matter of you taking a story about encounters between street dudes, and falsely elaborating this to be the sole cause or root of AA/Haitian conflicts in South Florida.

Miami Herald archives would have articles about the physical assaults of Haitian students and the illegal discrimination by landlords and employers......You know, documented EVIDENCE of the tension which occured way before this street encounter you detailed earlier.

Fat that you're using the " trust the word of Cubans over AAs " card instead of understanding that I was pointing to documented proof of tensions, shows me that you're just trying to save face after being called out.
