I never called him a cherry pick, I was the one saying he wasn't shyt, get it right:demonic:

My issue with Broner was that he aint belong at this level I tried to be a fan, but he lacked the skill, he could have got better but Garcia cleaned out 140, so truth be told there weren't too many names to fight from 135-140, but but but but at 147 he was very much a cherry picker, I vehemently called him a lower B level fighter and said he would lose to most in the top 10 at WW, he get no credit whatsoever for facing Malignaggi or Maidana when they were the easy fighters available at 147, and the most beatable fighters at 147, now answer this why should I kiss his ass after arguably losing to both.................................

He's 1-1 against 2 elite fighters in his last 2 matches....Paulie and Maidana are both elite right?:youngsabo:

He gets no credit for stepping up to fight "elite" boxers, when he's nothing but a B level fighter, but they get credit for fighting him?:mjpls:

I don't think the blame should be put at his moving up to 147 because I think he would have taken that L at any weight once he stopped fighting club fighters and actually faced a legit opponent.
He is not that good...he is an average, run of the mill ESPN Friday Night Fights level fighter.

I didnt place Broner Bum ass a pedestal boxing ignorant motherfukkers like yourself did, even when a OG like myself was trying to school you, now yall live with that.........

If Broner is P4P after facing jack shyt and is elite, than Maidana is very much a top P4P and elite after having a resume littered with names

:heh: at yall being Broners mouthpiece because Chino broke this bytch nikka's jaw :umad:

Got old, nah homie he got reckless, he was winning the fight with Marquez's corner threatening to stop the fight

After that, the Ohio in him took over and started raping errbody out here :heh:

yeah, Timmy still had a lot left when he stopped boxing. the Marquez fight warranted a rematch but it was too difficult likely with DKP and TR and no rematch clause. I dont remember him winning but I do remember that he had hurt Marquez badly the previous round and looked about ready to take him out then got caught. it was a real head-scratcher after losing that fight why he just didnt fight anymore.

Broner is young if they could have built him the right way facing actual legit fighters, and actual champs he would have grew the right way coming into his prime around 28 like most fighters, but they rushed it and set him up for a hard hard fall. It's rare you run into the young elite greats like Floyd and Garcia, Broner has shown over and over he wasnt great, they should have dusted him and tried to let him rebuild vs lesser comp post Paulie IMO.....

Broner was set up here, no way does he struggle with a pillowfisted Paulie then they throw him to the wolves to face a Maidana, somebody has some questions to answer

Maidana was about as beatable opponent as he couldve gotten. I think his promoters, his team, and even himself thought he was better than what he actually is. After struggling with Paulie like that...I'd went straight back down to 135...I dont give a fukk if it aint no names down there.

He was getting touched constantly by that leprechaun Rees too. I don't know why dudes are acting shocked that when he met a guy with actual power and not pillow hands that he would get in trouble.

This.......

And your right, I discount Rees because he was a smaller fighter who had no business in the ring with Broner, a Broner who may have known this and got wild but even still Rees brought it to his ass something fierce, if not for Broner dirty clinch work who knows what happens in that fight

I think everybody is missing the real issue with Broner. He needs a trainer that is official, you can't make it at the next level without a championship-caliber trainer. Behind every great fighter is a great trainer. And he's still running with the local dude from the youth gym:damn:His footwork is poor, he can't defend any left jabs/hooks, and he loses composure under pressure.

His corner gave him no useful advice or strategies. He's coasted off talent alone, but hard work will always beat talent eventually.

That was after the rape charge, 2 year lay-off, and at a weight he had no chance at

Had he just swallowed his loss to Marquez and stayed dedicated he would've been fine, but just like in his bout with Marquez, he got wreckless. I mean, before the Marquez he wasn't the man at 118 anyway. Tapia, Ayala and Veeraphol (sp?) were the recognized kings, so he still had work to do had he beat Marquez...

Mentally he was fragile from that loss and like many other Ohio-ans, he couldn't recover

If his "father figure" of a trainer can't get through to him, no one else has a shot.....you guys can't underestimate this kid's arrogance

I think it's the opposite. His "father figure" cant get through to him because of years of enabling and yes manning. I think somebody new and experienced would get through to him. He would listen to somebody that demanded respect.

both you and @SuikodenII have a point. I am of the belief that fathers or father figures can only develop fighters so much. Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, and yes, even Roy Jones wouldve been better if not guided by their father's for so long. Those guys basically got away with athleticism but werent as good technically as they couldve been. Broner has some technical issues. Forget about his power...thats not even a big deal. At a point you have to learn from someone with true pedigree. FMj was different because FMs was a legitimate boxer....but even still...I think lil Floyd had to learn some things from Roger and Jeff and on his own. One man cant give you but so much knowledge.

Broner is likely to arrogant to follow another trainer's advice and teachings wholeheartedly.
