I liked that because it subverted my expectations. Didn't see him still getting killed anyway. They really did take the whole "do the right thing and get rewarded later" bit from Training Day yet he still got blasted lol
Watched it again the ending was corny
The Orc(disfranchise race) should’ve been the bright wouldn’t had better meaning than the privilege race having it, just screams of Will Smith Django got to be the hero at the end and save everything
The explanation was literally in the TITLE of the movie
The caping in here is
Movie was utter shyt. A great concept =/= a great movie
The dialogue in this was SyFy status....maybe worse
The characters were utter trash
The redbeard Magic Fed and the asian police Lieutentant was the worst acting I have seen all year
Jakoby was a bumbling idiot and that made zero sense in the story. Why would they let an Orc on the police force like that?
Every stereotype imaginable from every race was turned up to 11 like it was a parody film
You could write a novel about how ridiculously executed this all was
I still gave it 2 stars because the action was solid. But that is the only redeeming factor. Rest of the film is garbage bin status.
Did you have this same problem for the last samurai, children of men or django unchained itself and the infinity amount of movies where the white has to be the hero at all cost? So 1 black dude wants the same and its a problem now?My bad this is the film room I thought it was common knowledge that the reason he turned down Django because he wanted it to be a bigger role and for him to the hero at the end
Same feeling I get from this
It would’ve had bigger for the Orc to be the bright and save everyone at the end

It wouldnt have been better at all tbh.I was actually thinking the same thing looking back on this. When they said that only one human in a million was a Bright, the OF COURSE everyone in the audience immediately knew Will Smith was that one in a million.
How much better would it have been if the Orc turned out to be The Chosen One/Reincarnation of Jirak the Orc hero from the graffiti mural we see during the opening credits?
But Will Smith's the star, and they already showed him holding the wand in the trailers, so...
