Been happening downtown ain't downtown no more, they thinking of building a casino over by the baseball stadium, doubt it will happen tho
From my understanding, they're going to make that area into commercial/residential. The city may jumped to about 500,000 population wise since they're expanding the residential life downtown.

When I saw Starbucks downtown I knew it was a wrap. They might as well put a Disney store downtown. Ain't been downtown in a minute. Last time I was down that way I was at the Badboy concert and prior to that I was walking around after coming from that Rite Aid on corner of Washington. Was picking up these antibiotics with this chic who just had the abortion.

Do yall think Newark is going to experience the same fate as Harlem and BK with gentrification? I give it 3 to 5 more years.

...only reason it hasn't already happened is because of Newark's rep as the 'Bricks'
otherwise once folks start realizing what Newark as a location has to offer, its gonna be a wrap

yall have heard the saying about real estate--its all about location, location, location

Newark has pretty much everything anyone could need out of a metro/urban center;

nice parks, a downtown business district, a sports arena, airport etc...

only drawbacks is the lack of jobs, violent crime and also shaky mass transit

otherwise Newark should be a prime target for the gentrifyers
