Despite multiple outlets reporting that as many as 250,000 people may attend protests, Trump said Tuesday: "I didn’t see the protesters until just a little while ago, and it was a very small group of people put in for political reasons. So it was fake news."

Trump dismisses UK protests as 'fake news,' turns down meeting with Corbyn
Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has been critical of President Trump and planned to attend Tuesday's protests.

Why would Corbyn even want to meet him?

"We don't want to be shackled to the EU" :troll:

So now we have American chlorine chicken to look forward to and the NHS being "on the table" re future trade deals. Funny thing is a lot of those elderly Brexit voters are the main beneficiaries of the health service.

Re trade deals I don't know what kind of bargaining power an island of 65m will have against the US. Obviously the US prefers a breakup of the EU so that they could deal with each country individually rather than as a bloc and then pick them off one by one...but I don't know what the UK stands to gain.

Honestly I have never been so disgusted with politics in my life. They're all a mixture of self-serving power hungry sociopaths, extreme ideologues or nondescript career politicians who just want to maintain their office and perhaps parlay it into a lucrative private gig. The country is burning and these lot are jostling for position.

I don't think there's any appetite for a general election. They saw what happened to May after she took over the party. All the main candidates for the Tory leadership post seemed to have ruled out an election.

But outside of Brexit, I don't think the Brexit Party would survive much like UKIP. Most of their support would probably be absorbed by the Tories

Which is smart as it would be end of the Tories.

But Labour pushing a GE could backfire on them. Their poll numbers have crashed in a month after leading for a minute!

Yh. The lines have been drawn and the Lib Dems have risen from the dead by standing firm on being Pro-EU. Labour under Corbyn is more muddled on that issue.
