like yoooo they have to explain that in history ...like back to back super super main event matches and they fukked both of them up trying to do montreal screwjob finishes

did you not see the crowd explode when nash won the belt???

I doubt wcw brass was disappointed.

hes a triple crown winner in WCW.
won the world title twice, the U.S. title 4 times and stayed in a major storyline the whole time he was over there.

at some point, you gotta stop blaming eric bischoff for bret hart not getting over with the WCW crowd and just admit that in the WCW, he was a small fish in a big pond.

He was a fish in Hulkkk Hogan's political pond.

Terrible take.

Also makes it obvious you weren't watching when it happened...

...Bret's debut was overturning a shockingly clean loss by Sting.

Nobody understood why Hogan won (he was literally politicking against his long awaited comeuppance), or why Bret had power to restart the match (with a normal count by the ref, the attempted Montreal Screwjob reference no longer worked), or why the entire locker room was validating the event (just made WCW look bush league - it couldn't deliver the payoff).

There's your history lesson, that's also why your average fan from that time gives Bret in WCW a pass. His downfall in WCW has always been attributed to the company misusing him rather than any failure on his part.

He was over, but I agree that had had no impact because they used him about as poorly as they possibly could. They literally had the dude coming off the biggest, most buzzworthy event in wrestling history up to that point, the true WWF Champion who never really lost, and they really had him going after the TV title. That was the first title he got a shot at in WCW. And it was 6 months into his run. :mjlol:

Combination of being lost in the shuffle plus I think he lost his smile a little there and I say that as Bret fan

Look, to a certain extent even with all the belts he won in WCW that others have mentioned this was during an era when they had a lot of belts and people were hot potatoing them. I mean I love Booker T but he look at his 5 title reigns there. Look at the current titles in WWE and how many they are won by some people to make you realize they arent the accomplisments they are meant to be if not booked right. I think they also miscast him being with the NWO, that made little sense and then you just make him another guy.

But I also dont know how willing he was to work with Eric Bischoff on his creative there. As much as Hogan and them was in Bischoff's ear, Bret should have tried to play the poltiics and get Eric on his side so he could listen to his creative. As much as Bischoff was busy and overloaded with stuff and listen to the NWO, I think he'd be willing to hear ideas from others given his plate was full and they didnt call him Easy E for nothing. I know Bret doesnt do poltiics but thats where its actually good if he did

f*ck outta here.
I don't need any history lesson I was there.

bret gets a pass for flopping in WCW by WWF marks. aint no real WCW fans giving him a pass. theyre gonna call a spade. some of yall in here making up ridiculous excuses and/or trying to alter the subject because bret hart is a childhood nostalgic WWF figure, plus you have the WWE propaganda machine placing the blame on bischoff.

and none of that chit you talking has anything to do with BRET HART's WCW run. that chit affects the actual participants in the match. not no dam special referee. youre reaching like chit.

and if YOU were really there in real-time, you would know that it wasn't even bret's 1st appearance in WCW. he got a lukewarm welcome from the crowd when he 1st appeared on nitro, and a lukewarm reception when he came out on starrcade. and it continued on until they finally turned him heel, since he couldnt get over as a main event face. THATS THE CHIT THAT YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT IN REGARDS TO BRET. not the outcome of a f*ckin sting/Hogan match.
