Terrible take.
Also makes it obvious you weren't watching when it happened...
...Bret's debut was overturning a shockingly clean loss by Sting.
Nobody understood why Hogan won (he was literally politicking against his long awaited comeuppance), or why Bret had power to restart the match (with a normal count by the ref, the attempted Montreal Screwjob reference no longer worked), or why the entire locker room was validating the event (just made WCW look bush league - it couldn't deliver the payoff).
There's your history lesson, that's also why your average fan from that time gives Bret in WCW a pass. His downfall in WCW has always been attributed to the company misusing him rather than any failure on his part.
f*ck outta here.
I don't need any history lesson I was there.
bret gets a pass for flopping in WCW by WWF marks. aint no real WCW fans giving him a pass. theyre gonna call a spade. some of yall in here making up ridiculous excuses and/or trying to alter the subject because bret hart is a childhood nostalgic WWF figure, plus you have the WWE propaganda machine placing the blame on bischoff.
and none of that chit you talking has anything to do with BRET HART's WCW run. that chit affects the actual participants in the match. not no dam special referee. youre reaching like chit.
and if YOU were really there in real-time, you would know that it wasn't even bret's 1st appearance in WCW. he got a lukewarm welcome from the crowd when he 1st appeared on nitro, and a lukewarm reception when he came out on starrcade. and it continued on until they finally turned him heel, since he couldnt get over as a main event face. THATS THE CHIT THAT YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT IN REGARDS TO BRET. not the outcome of a f*ckin sting/Hogan match.
